Along with some friends we have recently eaten at the Dovedale and enjoyed their festive menu which I must say was delicious with an ample selection of starters, a good choice of main courses and some delicious desserts and we all came away with full bellies. I suppose the sting in the tail at this time of year must be the place was full and a party of 39 was due in after us which meant as soon as we put our knives and forks down our plates got whipped away and the next course arrived, this and only this took the shine off our evening but will not put us off from visiting again.

Firstly if you drive don't bring your car as parking is dreadful, booked into an "executive room" which didn't even have a comfortable chair, only a dining chair was provided. Room lacked basic needs, for example there was no where to place a toilet bag in the bathroom, not even a small shelf, towels were not changed, bedding was rather cheap quality, the tv had a blue line running down it & there was no lift only a narrow stairs. First night in the restaurant the youngsters serving forgot part of my meal but no apology given. First morning at 06:45 am the fire alarm went off, I got up and went downstairs but no reason given other than it was probably the kitchen. Should I carry on as I had booked in for 4 nights & will not be back. This hotel charges £113 per night which is way over priced & is nowhere as good as other hotels in Grimsby area for a lot less. The owners need to use their rooms themselves to find the short comings.

Room Tip: The executive rooms are over priced.

We have visited this restaurant twice in the last 3 months. The 2 for 1 grill offer Mon - Fri is excellent value. We had the fillet steaks on both occasions and they are superb - one of the best i've had- large in size, cooked to perfection - excellent value for money. The seating/bar area is modern and spacious and a great place to sit and relax before & after your meal. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. Overall this was excellent value for money and did not compromise on the food. Will definately be going back.

Stayed here for two nights on business trip to Grimsby Nice hotel entrance, cosy bar, reasonable restaurant for breakfast- but room was major disappointment. Stayed in room 104, a saggy double bed with a two foot clearance on each side from the walls with a carpet that might have been beige at one time - hard to say. Stains on the walls - not a very appealing room. Not great value for money. If coming back to the area would not come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: don't ask for room 104

I couldn't fault the staff who were very hardworking and helpful so its shame that I found the hotel room a little disappointing after hearing good things about it. The four poster bed was almost as big as the room which meant it felt claustrophobic, the bed was also a bit wobbly and the woodwork scuffed around the frame. The bathroom was clean and spacious but there was nowhere to stand my toiletries. Had I paid the full rate for the hotel room and I didn't I would have been extremely disappointed. I would rate this as a good guest house rather than a quality hotel.
The bedroom, public areas and toilets were very clean and I might stay here again as it is very central but hopefully not in The four poster room.

Me and my family went for a day out in cleethorpes and came across this hotel. What a lovely place. We didn't stay in the hotel overnight so i can't comment in the rooms. The reception and bar area is modern and clean. We had a two course Sunday lunch which was fantastic. The best place to eat in cleethorpes. Really good value for money too.
