“Cleethorpes, Thorpe Park caravan park.”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

I visited Cleethorpes with my partner and three children in August 2012. We came here for a week long holiday and stayed on Thorpe Park caravan park. The caravan park itself was ok, very clean and members of staff in general were quite polite. The site is very big so given the size of it we were expecting a bit more entertainment. There is both an indoor/outdoor pool which both were ok, kids enjoyed themselves, night time childrens and adults entertainment in a large room, small childrens indoor and outdoor playareas and various eating places, ie Pappa Johns, Burger King, Fish & Chip shop etc There is also an arcade on site but if you are into these I suggest you use the few in the town centre as staff rarely update the prizes/tickets to be won as apparently they are very busy! I feel that this campsite is very understaffed. I was visiting the arcade one evening with my son and we got some chips and sat outside, within minutes a group of teenagers no older than 15 decided to sit opposite us drinking (v drunk already I may add) and not long after 1 was throwing up all over the floor, then was our time to leave to say the least! again no security to be seen. After spending a week here you notice the site changes in the evening and it's not a v nice atmosphere. As for Cleethorpes itself it was a nice place but too quiet for us, we found ourselves looking for things to do, as there is so little around. For a quiet holiday away great, for a fun filled busy week go up the road to Skeggy.

This was the fourth time that we have visited Thorpe Park. We went on a Sun Holiday break.
We were fortunate to have a caravan near the entertainment, so it was in a good position.
The caravan was small but very clean and everything was laid out for us.
We take a dog on holiday with us so are never sure what the caravan will be like, but we have never been disapointed.
We didn't use the facilities so couldn't comment on them. The staff as usual were very friendly and helpful
The two entertainment venues had good acts on, the beer was a bit on the expensive side but that is what you would expect.
Cleethorpes has a lovely country park, that was being used by joggers etc.
Very wheelchair friendly.
Excellent if you are walking your dog, there is even a doggy swimming area.
All in all the caravan park was very clean and the staff always helpful. Plenty for children to do.

Room Tip: The park is quite large and if you have mobility problems tell them when booking and they will try t...

seeing a review further down for this caravan I thought I would write my interpretation of the same caravan as I have just come back from a midweek break. Privately booked through ebay for this caravan on seeing the below review I was dreading going to stay BUT to my surprise there was nothing in the caravan that I would recognise from the review below. Upon arrival the caravan looked in good state of repair = on entering the caravan everything was immaculate, no black stains on said curtains or walls, no smell of urine what so ever everything really clean, rug in living room looked a little dated but other than that everything seemed fine. Nice clean bedding. Whether the owners had seen the review below and very quickly put things right I dont know but the caravan I stayed in was of far better quality and furnished better than a Haven one they hire out at twice the price. The owners even text and rang me while i was there to make sure we were ok.

the park is lovely really spread out and lots of things for the kids - nice pool -nice bars - niot a lot to do in Cleethorpes except the theme park next door = skegness isnt that far tho for a nice day out.

Thorpe Park has it all, it really is a child's dream. The pool area is spotless and the whole park seems to be kept very clean overall.
The staff will go that extra mile to make you feel welcome......
The activities are great and the entertainment provided was good too. We loved the wrestling and and a great family time.
There is so much to do in Cleethorpes, we went to a family fun day at the Meredian Centre which cost just a pound each and everything was then free. There was all sorts of activities from an entertainer, face painting, bouncy castles and shows.
The Trawlerman is excellent value for money and also the Chinese/Indian banquet.
In the park behind the Chinese/Indian all you can eat is a free lido with lifeguards which was fantastic for the children.
We visited Pleasure Island theme park which is literally next door and had a great day out, following this we went to McCormacks bar which is free entry at Pleasure Island and we did a game show night with Mr.Adams well what can I say it was the best family night out we have ever had.Mr.Adams is the best entertainer we have ever seen and so dedicated to his job.....Absolutely brilliant.
We had such a brill time that the children didn't want to come home........Guess what? We have now bought a caravan their so can have holidays all year round Woo Hoo xxx

a bit late but non the less, stayed in june 2012,
had fantastic stay, caravan all clean, bed linen a little thread bare but for a few days was bearable.
we had the deluxe plus caravan, has heating in all the bedrooms n bathroom, which was a godsend even in june.
swimming pool was clean and the kids loved it, ate at the take out chippy and papa johns all good. we used the tesco thats a few minutes drive away as it saves on going to the spar shop on site and spending a fortune.
we asked for caravans to be next to eat other and they met our request which i was most greatful of, rachel checked us in she was really helpful, i booked a bed rail on check in and it arrived literally 5 minutes after i had got to the caravan, very speedy
as others on here we went to the trawler carvery, it was delicious although it was very busy we had to queue up for our meat for around 20 minutes.
all ion all great family holiday
