Stayed recently on a Wowcher deal. Beautiful hotel, everything was spotlessly clean. Very efficient and pleasant staff. Food in restaurant is excellent and the hotel is in a lovely quiet setting. Would recommend anytime.

My boyfriend and I stayed here one weekend for our anniversary. I had a Groupon - two nights for two people with breakfast both days and one dinner, plus wine and chocs in the room all for £99. It was excellent value.

Staff were very friendly and helpful even though we were cheapskates with a voucher and not 'proper' full-price customers.

The room was very clean and well heated. We actually needed to open the window (which had a lovely view of the grounds outside) for a bit because we were too warm, a welcome change in November!

Our meal in the restaurant was lovely - well cooked, tasty food and nice quick service. The breakfasts were excellent too, self-service full English that was actually fresh and hot.

I would stay again, even without a voucher =)

Although the hall is obviously geared up for business functions during the week it is a lovely place to stay for a day or two at the weekend if you want to explore the area around Melton Mowbray. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant food is excellent (my steak and kidney pie was wonderful - too many places don't know how to cook kidneys so they are tender and melt in the mouth!), the grounds are lovely to walk around and they even had real ale, definitely a plus for hotel in my experience. The hall is conveniently situated for Melton Mowbray itself, which is a few minutes away by car, but far enough away to be peaceful if you just want to unwind. Well done everyone - an enjoyable staff at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: As long as you are in the main building you should have nice views. The rooms at the rear catch the...

A beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds. Peace and tranquility surround the hotel.
The staff are lovely, friendly, and helpful and the food is good. Some of our group mentioned that their rooms were a little on the small side, but our room was very comfortable. There is ample room for parking

Room Tip: Asd in other countries, why not ask to see the room first?

Arrived late at hotel as our flight was delayed. Tried to ring hotel at 1am but no one to answer phone. Hotel door was locked and after a long delay eventually got in. When I booked directly by phone they did not tell me the front door would be locked after 11pm.

Apart from that wonderful location, beautiful grounds, friendly staff and good food.

Thank you for your review following your stay with us.

I do regret you were not informed that the front doors are locked from 11pm, however this is advertised on our website, and we do have night staff on duty, and I do apologise for the delay you experienced.

I am pleased however to read that you enjoyed the hotel, the grounds and found the staff friendly and attentive.

The hotel was very easy to find via our TomTom and parking was exceptionally good, even for a disabled person. Anyway, the hotel reception area was very grand, with plenty of oak panels and space to view the extensive lounge and bar areas. The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The evening meal and breakfasts we had over our two night stay were excellent and the former was presented to absolute perfection. The Steak was cooked correctly and the garnish was arranged as you would find in top notch restaurants. The accommodation was excellent on our second night as we moved to a quieter area in the next block which had beautiful views of the veg garden and grounds. All in all, we would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay and near enough to Stamford and Burghley House or Rutland Water for a day out. Of course there is the market day (tues) in Melton Mowbray just down the road (5 Min) by car which is a bit nearer and Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe to visit. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter!
