Staff were good hotel was very bad. All the dirty laundry bags were stacked in reception not the best first impression. Rooms look dated and are in need of a revamp no hot water in the room and very poor shower. no cooked breakfast available even though the company had paid for it. Too far away from anywhere Moved to a better hotel after one night after we all complained to the company

Some people are so fussy. Yes the hotel is run down and old fashioned, but it does its job. For £22 a night I couldnt fault it. The bathroom was clean and modern and the room was clean and tidy with fresh bedding and towels and tea making facilities. It was cosy and homely and the lady running reception was lovely and very helpful. I would stay there again. It was warm and the bed was comfortable and provided me with a good nights sleep. Dont take notice of other reviews, if you are used to top notch hotels then this is not for you, but if you are open minded and appreciate cheap and cheerful, you will be plesantly surprised.

Booked a cheap weekend hotel for a visit to Loughborough. Booked well in advance.
When I pay cheap I still expect a basic level of cleanliness, good wash facilities and a good nights sleep - My expectations were too high for even this. Had to request clean cups and kettles as all were too dirty to touch, room still remained filthy despite complaining on the first night. The shower barely worked. Loud party music followed by loud party guest were heard up until 4am. Called reception to be told to complain in the morning! Book anywhere else, its just not worth the headache...

Cheap it was but you get what you pay for. Very shabby inside and out and obviously hasn't had any money spent on it for a long long time. Rotting woodwork, peeling paint etc etc
Our room was on the ground floor close to the entrance to reception and the owners/management obviously think it's OK to place a 'smokers' table and chairs right outside the window to a room!
We were glad we declined paying extra for breakfast as I really didn't want to risk it!
The bar/restaurant looked awful and we saw nobody eating even if there was food available
The only good thing to mention was the friendliness and helpfulness of the one member of staff we saw - the lady on reception who also did the hoovering/cleaning and brought us towels.

Room Tip: If you get put in a room with a picnic table outside insist on being moved if you want any sleep!

We booked this hotel for ourselves and our guests for our wedding near Melton. The staff (especially Kelly) was very pleasant and was happy to negotiate a group-booking rate, and was very helpful in the run-up to and over the weekend.

We hadn't been into the hotel but we had driven past - it looks very quaint from the A46 side but it could do with a bit of TLC once you drive into the car park and see it from the front! However it's quite pleasant inside, a teensy bit worn-looking but definitely not the worst hotel I've ever been in. The staff was very helpful with all my suppliers coming in and out, and doing whatever they could to make my preparations easier. In terms of service I personally can't fault them.

There were a couple of areas that fell a bit short for us, however. The key-cards weren't always programmed correctly so several of us needed to get them re-done before we could get into our rooms. Breakfast was charged at £5pp and seemed really sparse, even for a continental, and we had to ask at reception for a pot of tea. Many of our guests felt breakfast was overpriced and left without, and I think the choice should be extended for that price. One of our guests smelled cigarette smoke in his bedroom, and another complained that the radiator wouldn't turn off in their room so they roasted all night. One of our bridesmaids got charged twice for her booking but did get refunded. There was also mention of a restaurant at the hotel on the website, but I saw nothing inside the hotel itself that mentioned this, so we had to eat out on the night of arrival. Yet there must be a kitchen, as someone made a plate of sandwiches for us at one point!

However these are relatively minor, and overall the rooms were nice, well-kept and tidy. The 'bridal suite' was smaller than the photos suggest but still quaint! Double-glazing might be an improvement, especially for rooms next to the A46 like ours was, but luckily traffic noises didn't bother us too much and the bed was both pretty and comfy. The lobby was also very welcoming. Overall the price was good (£40prpn), as was the service, and if we had to do it all over again I would still pick Six Hills for myself and my guests as it's a decent hotel for a good price.

Against better advice, I sometimes use a budget hotel for the odd overnight stay. This place looks sad from the outside and not very busy on the inside, just one staff member on duty, who was very pleasant and welcoming, despite the drearyness of the place. The room had clean bedding, but, stained carpets, rotting windows, awfull TV, and NO bathroom mirror! To add to the night, there was almighty crash of falling funiture at one point, then at around 2am the room phone rang but know one there!!! Don't pay the fiver for [continental] breakfast, tired tupperware cereals and boiled to death coffee, better value further along the A46. The staff I delt with were great people, but I feel they are working against impossible odds. Get the bulldozers in soon and make a fresh start.
