“The Crown now closed!”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at the Crown in January 2012, and booked again to go this weekend April 14th....just phoned to confirm booking and phone and web-site are disconnected, pub is for sale on Rightmove and having phoned the estate agents....it's closed!
They could at least have phoned to let us know....
Hope someone buys it and gets it up and running well again soon as the location iand setting are great.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid December. The room was spacious, clean and warm. The bar with log fire was perfect and we ate full english breakfasts there both morning which were excellent. The hospitality and friendliness from the new manageress Yvonne and barman Dave could not be faulted. We will be going back before long. Highly recommended for a nice quiet break.

Room Tip: Ask for the Kingsize rooms the prices are the same.

we chose this as a place to stay using tripadviser and were not disappointed. Not the easiest to find but turned out to be a good value place to stay. The service was friendly and the food we had was good. We did even find for us that it was almost too much. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

We stayed for just one night and really enjoyed our stay. We were warmly welcomed by Daisy who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Fresh milk for tea on arrival etc. We had an evening meal and breakfast both of which were excellent. The rooms are large and nicely furnished.

Two very minor grumbles the pipe work is very noisy when flushing the toilet room 2. The broadband was down, this was a fault of BT not the pub we were just unlucky.

We would defiantly recommend staying and eating at The Crown.

We only stopped one night but this place is a little gem. Excellent service and superb food.
There are only three rooms but these are very nice. A cross between boutique and old fashioned. They are quiet and have a lovely view over a cottage garden.
We ate in the restuarant and found the food good value and to a very high standard.
Would we go back, without doubt.

This is an absolute gem, value for money, excellent service, very modern comfortable rooms. The evening meal was superb and not over priced, the breakfast was top quality. Can't praise this place enough - we will definitely be back!!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were so pleased with the b&b. The manager, daisy, was fantastic! She seemed to be on her own the first night and did everything but to an excellent standard! Her customer relations were also great! She was friendly, helpful, always smiling and she did everything she could to make sure our stay was easy and relaxed!

By the second night there were a few more staff on, who were also helpful and friendly!

Also, we ate in the pub on one night and really enjoyed our meal! Delicious!
