“Great Pub with amazing real ales”

This is a wonderful little place, it is tucked away in the little village of Shevington Moor but only a couple of minutes from the M6 jct. 27.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the Silver Tally is now a regular meeting point for myself, my wife and our friends.
The food is good honest pub food, always cooked fresh and hot, with the Tally Burger being a particular challenge!
The place is dog friendly so makes a great stop off on our Sunday afternoon walk.
Oh and the beers are amazing, a great choice of real ales form the local Prospect Brewery, if you are not sure which to choose, just ask for a pint of "Whatever!"

Thank ProspectPanter

Thanks for the good review of our pub. Glad you like the beer and the 'good honest' food. We don't do ready meals, all our food is freshly cooked and it is great to have that acknowledged.

Have popped in here with at different times my husband, mother and niece. All generations had a great time and found something they enjoyed to eat.

Hubby described every Prospect beer he tried as lovely and he can be hard to please.

When leaving I saw a dog friendly sign so we are looking forward to going back with our 4 legged friend.

Thank Christine L

This is a pub. The food is fairly standard pub food, cooked well and served with a smile but nothing extra-ordinary. The beer on the other hand is first class. Well worth searching out.

Thank you for the beer comments, we try very hard as the brewery tap to serve the best pint of real ale in the area.

We were lucky enough to be in Standish when the Silver Tally celebrated their one year anniversary recently. The owner included everyone in the food and festivities, even us.

We found the Prospect Brewery after watching James May's Drink To Britain, when they singled out the owner as providing prize-worthy ales. Since then, she has opened up her own pub, The Silver Tally, specializing primarily in her own, unique, hand-crafted ales. Wigan Snowman's chilly experience was likely a reflection on his mood at the time, as my family and I have received nothing but the kindest, best reception whenever we've been in the pub. If you want cheering up, go and see your aunty. If you want a fantastic ale with decent food and good service... come to the Silver Tally in Standish.
