The fish stew was delicious (with plenty of fish), as was the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Excellent value - only £12.50 on the special lunch menu. Caitlin was very attentive, friendly & professional. Based on our experience yesterday I will definitely go back.

Had a lovely meal with my husband on Saturday for our 20th wedding anniversary, food was amazing and the cocktails were delicious! We sat outside and had Natalia as our waitress who was amazing, she was so chatty and professional, so smiley and nothing was to much trouble. She recommended the beef short rib to my husband and he thoroughly enjoyed itShe made our anniversary very enjoyable. All other staff so polite and attentive and the atmosphere was buzzing. Really recommend we will definitely be back!

This appears to be the "in place" in Standish at the moment, perhaps because it's new and different from anything else in the area. We went to try out the fixed price lunch, 2 courses for £12.50. We had booked but 20 minutes after our booked time had to ask to be seated. The table, in a booth, was barley large enough for the group and one person was seated in the walkway between tables which made for an uncomfortable, interrupted dining experience. We were given "normal" menus; the fixed price menu was not mentioned. There was 1 fixed price menu on the table. Starters were served quite quickly but then there was a wait of approx 20 minutes for the main courses. We were provided with a jug of water which the waitress poured; when doing so she had to move the glasses and she put her fingers inside some of glasses when moving them. When the desserts were served we had to ask for cutlery and when this was brought we were a dessert spoon short and were told they had run out of them so one of the party had to manage with just a fork and fingers! The food was of average quality, nothing to complain about other than some meals could have been warmer but nothing to rush back for either. Service overall was slow, bar service was very slow; the barman appeared to be using a tutorial on a mobile phone to mix cocktails. Whilst there were some mature staff the majority were young and the general impression was one of inexperience and a non cohesive team.

We have now been twice, once in June and most recently on 20th September.

I have to see I think the presentation of the whole building is very good.

I have however been a little disappointed with the service and food.

Service - our first visit just seemed very slow and not a great deal of engagement. Our second visit was better, young lady who looked after us was very polite and attentive. However, we did have to chase olives and soda bread five mins after starters arrived, which is a shame.

Food - I've been a little underwhelmed and this was really brought to prominence on our most recent visit. I had the lobster and prawn risotto which was a bit of 'chosen treat' but at £23.50, I expected good things. A risotto should have bit of bite in the rice but it was very chalky and the dish wasn't seasoned. There is no salt and pepper on tables which isn't uncommon but the dish really needed some salt.

Look, the venue is very impressive and the menu is good with premium type listings however the food and service does need to match the aesthetic quality of the restaurant.

It is early days and things always improve, hopefully will be as just as impressed with the food on our next visit.

A lovely & rare evening spent catching up with friends in a quality venue, unfortunately dampened by a lower level of customer service and attention to detail than i would I expect from a place aiming for a higher end level of dining experience.
