“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and two teenage daughters. I booked two suites for our stay. The standard was excellent! Really really clean, well furnished, warm and comfortable! Loads of cupboard space, large wall mounted tv,kettle, hairdryer etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the building next door. Again the food was excellent, freshly cooked although the staff here appeared to be a little disorganised! We had to ask for everything from spoon. It didn't spoil our breakfast though . The whole environment is lovely, peaceful and very well maintained. There is also a very chic hairdressers on site and a personal trainer available!
I would definitely stay again at The Avenue and would definitely recommend it. Brilliant!

Room Tip: Pay the extra money for one of the suites!!

We needed somewhere close to the Forest of Bowland on our walking weekend, and price wise The Avenue was cheaper than a B n B. We negotiated a bit off the price seeing as it was still only February (£45) with breakfast included, which made the room even better value for the two of us. The hotel itself is only a stone's throw away from a Bistro where breakfast is served. The hotel is in a very quiet location, is warm and very clean. The room was very spacious with all ameneties, although the shower room lacked a box with a shower cap, which I had forgotten! Unusual nowadays when little bottles of soap and shampoo were provided. However, the receptionist was very helpful and provided me with a plastic bag to improvise, which worked a treat! Staff in the hotel and Bistro were very friendly and the English breakfast was good. I'd definitely stay again. Even though it was nothing out of the ordinary, it was overall better than other establishments I've stayed at higher prices and there was nothing to fault.

Booked the Thomas Suite which had a very spacious lounge area (two settees, fridge and a large wall mounted flat screen television) and very tastefully decorated. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped as was the bathroom. Ate our evening meal in the newly renovated bar/restaurant, the food was good, tasty and very reasonably priced. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and all the staff working there and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Booked the hotel as a treat for my boyfriend's birthday on Laterooms.com for £49.95 with breakfast.

Very impressed with the standard of service and the quality of the hotel.
Receptionists were lovely, explained everything about the room key, booked our taxis to the local pub for something to eat (we should have just walked, its only 2 minutes walk down the road...) and reserved a table. (Black bull serves delicious food by the way!!!!)

As the hotel was quiet the offered room service for breakfast so provided a menu for us to choose from and pick a time for when we got the food. Overall very satisfied with the hotel and at such a good price too.

Hotel was tastefully decorated, not tired/worn like you can sometimes get.
Only small issue was the doors that constantly slam.
Will definitely be back though.

A group of us stayed here in Feb, as we were going to a wedding nearby the following day. The rooms were basic but clean and spacious and had everything you needed. The bar/restaurant was being renovated so we had to go to a local pub in the evening, which was only a short walk away.

We had all pre- booked breakfast with our rooms. When we got there we realised that as the girls had to leave early the next day (we were all bridemaids) we wouldn't have time to eat breakfast before we left. We explained this to reception and asked if we could cancel our breakfasts. The lady on reception said this wouldn't be a problem, but as it the hotel wasn't busy she could tell the cook to start making breakfast for us early if we wanted. However when we went to get breakfast the next morning, the cook had not been told anything and nothing was ready. She put some toast on for us while we grabbed a bowl of cereal, but we didn't have time to wait for her to cook anything. So we each paid about £8 for a bowl of cereal and piece of toast.
