“Some of the best food I've eaten”

I have been to this restaurant twice as following the first visit I was eager to go back and try other dishes from the menu. On both occasions the food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service was impeccable. In my opinion one of the best dining experiences in lancashire. Can't rate it highly enough. P.s. try the 'shin of beef', you won't be dissapointed!

Just returned from two nights stay (Used Groupon voucher),lovely tasteful building sympathetically restored to a very high standard,Ideal quiet location (room one)easy reach to Dales,West Coast resorts and the Lakes. We were made to feel very welcome in a homely /business like way,the room very comfortable (lotions and body creams a lovely touch). The bed is soft but oh so comfy, slept very well, the bar and surrounding area very relaxing, as is the tasteful dinning area, highlight was the full English breakfast outstanding taste and flavour nothing is too much trouble, I can recommend the porridge sheer delight.Cannot wait to return.Jan n Stu

Room Tip: Would recommend room one

The Castle Inn, Hornby was chosen for a birthday celebration dinner by five members of our family. The choice of dishes was impressive, the food beautifully cooked and imaginatively presented. We were made very welcome by the owners and also by the chef who came to our table to chat for a while. The ambience of the restaurant is delightful.
This hotel and restaurant is a splendid adjunct to a beautiful village which has a fine church and castle amid its picturesque houses and shops. Excellent value and thoroughly recommended.

I booked Castle Inn for two nights on the Groupon deal. On arrival we were met by Tom who is just lovely and very helpful and informative. Our room was ok but I wouldn't say 'delux' and would liked to have seen a standard room to compare. We were made to feel very welcome by the locals and they invited us to join them in the courtyard for drinks which is where we spent most of the night. The evening meal of mussels and steak was absolutely gorgeous. Having spent the next day at Ingleton Falls we went back to Castle Inn to relax and again had a beautiful meal. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The two downsides to our stay were -
the room is very close to the road and the church which chimed every hour on the hour through the night and the road is very noisy in the early hours.
On checking out I was asked to pay for the full stay having already paid weeks ago then they charged us for an extra bottle of wine that we didn't have. I was made to feel a bit awkward almost as if I was lying which was slightly uncomfortable.
On the whole though it is a beautiful spot and the staff are friendly. Many thanks.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are at the back - quieter

we arrived a little early and was told check in isnt till 3pm - fair enough but no offer of would you like to see our menu have a drink and ill check on your room!! No so we went further afield and hadaclovely lunch at the highwayman. Checked into our room all seemed lovely the bed was a small double even though they classes the room as deluxe. Then the toilet system was broke we were told to 'jiggle' it but after 3 visits from various staff members it was bodged so we had to push something within the system for it to operate! Dinner on first night very good really enjoyed it we had a cheeseboard to find the goats cheese had mould on. The next day we ordered breakfast very nice again the couple near us were presented with mouldy toast which she cut off. we went out for the day it was ver enjoyable. Went into the bathroom no attempt to fix the loo and the used towels i had left in the bath had been re-hung on the rail!!!! On check out we were presented with a bill that included someone eltses meal and drinks from the night before, i was made to feel that we were trying it on. So about £60 was removed was asked who served us as it would be coming out of there wages, so the bill was re-calculated and we payed what we were told now on checking the bill we were still over charged £9. The food is very good just need to check whats being sent out and i think the 'look' of the place over rules any practicalities such as a working toilet!

Room Tip: Room 3 is onto a busy road and can be quite noisy.

We stayed on a two night Groupon and had our best experience so far. The whole family were very friendly and helpful, our soaking boots and coats from a walk around Hornby were taken from us and dried overnight. Our room was lovely with quality towels, curtains and nice little touches with the toiletries. The fitments were really nice and it was also spotlessly clean. I would have preferred a larger bed than a standard double but it was comfortable.

The bar and restaurant were fitted out with a great eye for detail. It had a comfortable feel with lovely armchairs and quirky touches without giving the appearance of being cluttered. The meal of Moule followed by Steak and chips was well cooked and plentiful and the oldest son serving us was charm personified as well as knowledgable regarding the food.

Breakfast on both days was individually cooked to order and once again lovely touches such as the decanted fruit juice in nice bottles. All in all a lovely hotel for a short stay that I would highly recommend.

Just returned from a bank holiday weekend break at the Castle Inn, Hornby. And wanted to say how really excellent it was. The hotel itself was immaculate, tasteful and beautifully decorated. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely too and the food first class. From the extensive selection at breakfast using top quality ingredients. To the evening meals which were simply stunning. The steak we had was cooked to perfection. I have absolutely no reservation recommending this hotel and the restaurant to anyone who appreciates quality and good taste..
P.S. We booked our stay as a group on deal and got a great bargain too.
