“Not what I was expecting”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

We stayed here 2 weekends ago, I paid for this trip as a treat for my husband, parents and myself. Looking at the website I expected something fabulous. Unfortunately this what not what I found upon arrival. We stayed in lodge 69, it was lovely looking and quite clean. However the view was spoiled by rubbish down the bank, toothpaste smeared all over the wall in the en suite, minimal kitchen utensils and serving dishes, dirty windows to name but a few. I found the people in reception/ hindelinis rather rude and unhelpful and generally the site looked as if it was just plonked in a field. Next to us was a vacant plot with building debris and dangerous wood with nails sticking out of it. I left my comments on the form and no one has gotten back to me!!

“Very Enjoyable”
Reviewed September 15, 2011

My wife and I went today with my elderly in-laws : we wanted a lunchtime place where we could have a main course or 2 starters with soft drinks for £30 or so, and with a pleasant ambiance. Many places in this area have basic mains for a minimum of £10 which for a weekday lunch is overpriced IMHO. The less expensive pubs/restaurants often suffer from a standard of surroundings which is below par

This is a light and airy place in a fine location, with a large area for parking. You order at the counter and take the drinks to your table, while the food arrives later. Nice informal feel to the interior room while there are good views from the Conservatory

We ordered 2 types of soup - hot and tasty - a goats cheese salad (very good) with some hot muffins/barms

5 Stars? Well not quite

There appear to be no menus apart from a salad menu (which has no prices). It's all on a board - which is in the main area, not in the Conservatory. If you're with people who need to sit down - elderly or disabled for example - then you either have to write it all down or keep running between the 2 rooms while you try to remember. Funnily enough, there is also a menu issue with the other place we eat in Gisburn!

In these days of PCs, printers and laminators, could do better

The service was less friendly than I might have liked. The card machine wasn't working - OK it happens - but it's not customer friendly handing back a Scottish £10 note as change for 2 English £20s

Will definitely be back though - very nice place and very good food

“Ambience, good food and friendly service, it has it all.”
Reviewed August 7, 2011

I lunched with a friend at Hindelinis Restaurant at Ribblesdale Park and we both were impressed. I had an omlette, my friend had the soup--both delicious. We were served with a smile. The tables were clean and not crowded together, it was light and airy and you could eat outside. The inside was openly divided up into areas, each with a different ambience to it. The toilets were spotless and there was ample parking. I wish this enterprise every success.

“Hindelinis Cafe dissapointment”
Reviewed February 19, 2011

Having seen good reviews of Hindelinis we thought we would give it a try. Very poor standard of food, in fact does anyone remember the Wimpy Bars of the 1970, well that best describes it. Staff not interested on arrival, food very poor despite being 'locally sourced'
Very unwelcoming place in the middle of some kind of Chalet park. The tea was liked dishwater complete with a layer of floating fat on top
we were the only people in and on the way out the staff didn't seem to know what we had. A triumph of hype over substance
