We had our wedding here on 10th September 2011 and have to write and say it was fantastic.

Nicola, Derek & team could not have done more from the minute we booked.

They offered great advice and suggestions and were very flexible with my lack of organisation and last minute table & number changes.

I stayed over the nght before with my bridesmaids & some friends and the check in was quick and easy yet helpful. We ate in the tavern that night and the menu was varied and the food was great - drinks were also very good & not overpriced either.

The rooms are spacious and very clean with comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of hot & cold items available and again staff great. All of the function rooms are stunning and rooms are available to cater for any size function.

The food we had during the wedding itself both for the wedding breakfast, the evening buffet and the midnight bacon butties were absolutely fantastic and we had so many people comment on this. All courses were faultless and presentatin was great - it's no wonder at all that they have won awards for their food!

All in all a seamless day and many of our guests have commented on just how great it was.

Crofters hotel definately did us proud! - Definately highly recommended!!

We spent two nights in The Crofters on a value DB&B deal

Our experience was positive throughout from first welcome to settling the bill on departure
There is an obvious good attitude with all the staff whether reception, housekeeping, bar, tavern, or breakfast

Quality was high and the food excellent. I doubt you will get better for the price.

We had one small problem as one of our party had left an adapter (europe to UK) back in leeds.
NO PROBLEM for the housekeeping team who within minutes had produced one.

and finally...something rare these days...people smiled!!
well done Crofters

Stopped here for one night on our way up to Scotland. Lovely welcome when we checked in. Really friendly. Room lovely and big, complete with TV and tea/coffee facilities.

Bathroom clean and good size. Bedding crisp and fresh. The breakfast was in a lovely room with windows all around so nice and bright and cheery. Self service juice and cereals, then waitress service for full english cooked beakfast. GREAT VALUE.

Also, plenty of free parking spaces.

Dont normally post reviews, but thought I must for this hotel. Would definately stay again.

On travelling down from Scotland we wanted to break the journey and found this on Laterooms for £49 B&B and reviews mentioned Tavern had great food.

On arrival (and departure) I found staff extremely friendly and dinner in Tavern was great. The menu was varied and food could not be faulted. A little disappointing was this menu was different from their website,so it be good to see this updated. Breakfast was great, good choice of cereals followed by freshly cooked breakfast.

Our room was very spacious, but I'd say the bed was has was smaller than a queen size! I'd say the hotel has been investing in some areas and there are some areas were a lick of paint would go a long way (chipped skirting boards, ripped wallpaper etc) but it certainly no worse that other hotels, especially at £49 per night!

Overall, highly recommended!

My wife and i and our two year old son stayed here for three nights, and the staff were very helpful during our stay. Location excellent for all the usual suspects in the area - Blackpool, manchester, liverpool are all within an hour drive.
The rooms were clean and the family room was very sizeable, with the tv/dvd player being a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent.
The star of the place is the Crofters tavern, an absolutley brilliant pub grub place. Good for families, and couples alike.
Recommended and very reasonably priced

The positives: well located; equidistant between Blackpool and Preston. The room was well-appointed with modern fittings and spacious bathroom, with an ample-sized bath.Comfortable bed, despite the well-pubicised squeak! Brasserie and pub on hand should you not be inclined to go further afield for food and drink. Breakfast was plentiful and served promptly.

The negatives: souless, tired, oldfashioned and at times narrow corridors, that led to the bedrooms. A television that worked then decided not to; the integrated DVD player would not accept a disc as it seemed to have one jammed in it already. On arriving in our room, it would've been classed as too hot for a Swedish sauna - only after opening the one window that did and going to the pub for an hour and a half, did the room cool down. A difficult to open wardrobe, what with the key being missing and to top it all off, a pair of a previous guest's tights were found in one of the drawers. What staff we encountered were friendly and efficient but their numbers were thin on the ground.

All in all, a bit of a bizarre experience. By no means a terrible hotel; a quiet and reasonably-well rested night was had. The hotel appears to have been renovated in parts, grossly neglected in others. At the price paid I cannot complain too much but a bijou character-heavy bed and breakfast could be found nearby, for a similar tariff, without too much effort.
