Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review. We have found that the majority of our guests have appreciated our modern refurbishment. The Crofters always strives to give good value based on its extremely competitive pricing structure.I thank you for your comments

Our room had a nice four-poster bed, two TV's (one in the room and one in the bathroom), a nice bath and shower and complimentary tea and coffee making stuff. We only sampled the pub food, not the restaurant, but it was to die for! We both ordered separate dishes and were very pleased with what we had.

Service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stopover or short break.

If you are thinking about coming here for a wedding, don't. This hotel lost the reservation for me, the bridesmaid (even though I was the second person to book, after the Bride and Groom), the owner refused to discuss it with me or accept responsibility for any fault, then accused me of spoiling the Bride's day. The owner was extremely rude and would not apologise, she even suggested that I had not booked in the first place and that I must have been a last minute addition to the guest list, despite standing in front of her in my bridesmaid dress! There were no rooms left in the hotel and I could not join in with the full wedding celebrations as there was no where to stay, the owner had no thought for me or my young sister, we were basically just turned out on the street, we were two and a half hours away from home but the owner did not seem concerned or bothered at all. This is the worst example of customer service I have ever seen!

we stayed on a Saturday night for a wedding and payed only £69 for the two of us in a huge room, including a full English breakfast! I know we're Southerners, but I didn't know prices like this still existed for a great little hotel.
Need to advertise themselves better as we found it difficult to find on internet, but then again the place was packed. - would be at the prices they charge.
Food was good and the pub has local ales. What more can you ask?

Finding a good value hotel in Preston is hard. I tried this one the night before an interview. On arrival and when leaving we had to call to get staff to serve me. This was OK, but not what you would expect to do especially in the morning when many were trying to check out.

My room was very old fashioned. The beds were lumpy. The curtains were thin and the bright lights from the car park also prevented sleep. The bathroom was dated, 1970's was when this room was last updated. The hand held shower attached to the taps did not work and the handle came off so I had to have a bath, which wasn't ideal when I was preparing to get ready for an interview.

I was also woken up very early by building noises from the next room which was being upgraded, unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to get a newly decorated room. The rooms in this area of the building shouldn't have been available during this time.

The bar food was good and the service there was very good. The breakfast was standard, nothing special but good. Not the best, not the worst. Ask to stay in a new room!

We read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided that we would make our own minds up about Crofters.
Thank goodness we did! We totally disagree with the negative remarks people have made! Having observed people in various hotels, many may think that they deserve to be treated like royalty without using simple good manners and a smile themselves... We were welcomed by a friendly smile and shown to our room. The room was large and clean and housed a good size, clean en-suite with a corner bath and good lighting.
Unfortunately, the British weather stopped us from doing what wen had planned and so we retired to the Crofter's Tavern adjoining the hotel. The staff there were fantastic. They made us feel very welcome and we stayed to the end of the evening, being made welcome by the locals and having a superb time!
The following night, we dined in the Tavern and found the food to be delicious! The local people and the staff have am lot of recommendations of places and points of interest nearby and were keen to offer suggestions.
Breakfast was served in a two hour slot which, thankfully was not too early and we were served quickly and efficiently and enjoyed a simple yet fresh and comprehensive breakfast.

We enjoyed our experience so much that we are already planning another visit to Crofters and shall look forward to staying there again.
