I was steered to Backfold Cottage when my booking for a 2 night stay at the local pub turned out to have been mistakenly accepted, via the net, when the pub was actually full. What a fortunate mistake! Backfold Cottage was by far the better deal. A lovely quiet corner of the village, spotless accommodation and the landlady Trish could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts in particular were superb. Book to stay here and I would be very surprised if you find that you are in any way disappointed.

Backfold Cottage is in the attractive village of Waddington down a little cobbled street. Is is now under new ownership and we stayed there on Saturday night. It has the feel of a rural comfort blanket, lovely! It is extremely clean and the personal touches make this little B & B stand way out from the rest. The bedrooms are ensuite and country cottage in style .The breakfast is something else and served by the lovely manager herself. You may need to walk the breakfast off though and the surrounding fells and the villiage are perfect for that. There is a lovely pub (Waddington Arms) where you can get much better than average pub food in the evening and its only a few strides away. This place is highly recomended ... go and visit!!!!

Room Tip: The room at the front of the cottage facing the street.
