“The perfect shopping, relaxation & lunch retreat in Darwen”
Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

Breathtaking !!!
The whole experience sitting in the high walled courtyard, relaxing in the sunshine with a perfect cappuccino.
The staff are welcoming, friendly & the food is wholesome, home made and gorgeous.
From the homemade soup to the 'doorstop' handcut toast with butter. Simply delightful.
The tearoom is part of the furniture & giftshop and whether you are browsing for a gift for a child's party, furnishing your home or looking for that little something different then look no further.
The only warning on this place is ITS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, INSPIRING & WELCOMING.
You will never just visit once - you will fall in love with the ambience of the whole building.
Well done to the staff & owners - a real treasure in Darwen.

“Absolute hidden treasure!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

We found this place whilst searching for a new dressing table. The main joiners shop is on Watery Lane, Darwen, where furniture is lovingly crafted and some restored, then sent to be displayed in this gem of a place, which used to be the old Bowling Green Pub. It is like an treasure trove of bric a brac, gifts and trinkets & nestling in the centre is the jewel in the crown - Dolly's Tearoom! The food is good quality, home cooked, and simply gorgeous, especially the piegeta bread sandwiches served with crisp fresh salad, with many choices of filling, I love the Coronation Chicken, my hubby likes the fresh Ham sandwiches, and a cake each and tea for two cost an extremely reasonable 16.90! Well worth the visit, and yes we did get a lovely Shabby Chic dressing table too to take home!!

Really lovely place to visit, beautiful items to buy as well as clothes and shoes.

Great menu with really lovely food and the cakes are heavenly.

The staff are so friendly both in the shop and the tea rooms and give great service.

Will return for another visit. :)
