Stayed here on recommendation of Company I was visiting, the rooms are tiny not even place to swing a cat, no phones so one has to walk to reception which is nearly like a labrynth (!) to get there and then they can help you .....I asked for a plug adaptor only to be told that guest a few weeks ago took it with them! The breakfast is good and so was the dinner other than that its not worth staying here unless its the last place in Clitheroe and an overniter only

Room Tip: Choose another hotel in town

Mitt on hall is a great hotel , beautiful location in the forest of bowland , we use this hotel for staff to stay at because of the food and the rooms ,
Always clean , spacious and the restaurant is very very good , the bar area is a great place to relax and beautiful when the weather warms up sitting outside at the back looking over the river rubble ,
No hesitation in recommending this location ,

I don't like posting bad reviews. It's rare I do. Stayed here in February for a romantic two days. First the rooms - very very small. No room to swing a kitten, let alone a cat. Then the noise. They seem to have weddings every day and the noise coming into the room was incredible. We were awake both nights until past 1.30am.

Definitely not a place for people to stay unless they're lucky enough to be part of the wedding.

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms above the function suite. The sound proofing is so bad I could hear every word of co...

We stayed on February 8th 2013 and again the standard of service and the attention to detail were first class. The staff were friendly, professional and in complete control of the guests needs. Nothing was too much trouble, which is incredibly reassuring when we had our 7 month old with us. The king suite was exquisite as was my mother in laws suite. There is real character in these rooms and anyone who appreciates the quintessential touches that old houses possess will really warm to the decor. The evening meal was excellent and the whole stay had the stamp of quality that we have come to expect at MItton Hall.

Impressive building and gardens. Reception polite and friendly , as were all staff. Very attentive and caring made the stay here very enjoyable.
Room was large but a little chilly and was heated by a plug in electric heater. Expected to see Henry VIII wandering around the hotel, as very tudor in style.
Did not have dinner, but breakfast was first class - plenty and nicely presented and well cooked.
All in all an enjoyable stay.

I had the pleasure to have lunch recently with a dear friend at Mitton Hall, and I enjoyed it a lot.

On this nice day in February, we were driving to this beautiful hotel under a sunshiny blue sky with temperatures just above zero degrees Celsius. So when we entered the bar area, the warmth of the fireplace was a welcome bonus. We were seated by a very friendly barman/waiter, and were offered the menu, while enjoying a lovely glass of draft beer.

The menu offered a nice choice of ‘bar’and ‘deli’ options, and we opted for the ‘4 to share’ from the deli menu. Our choice was the Bami Goreng, Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, Asian style confit duck leg with pancakes and Tempura King Prawns. The Bami Goreng was very nice with large pieces of chicken and veggies in it. It made an excellent combination with the 4 skewers of chicken satay with the peanut sauce. The duck with pancakes was excellent, while the tempura prawns, combined with tempura vegetables, were the highlight of these great dishes. The bread selection, which we added as a variable choice of extra side dishes, offered some nice pieces of bread with oil and vinegar, and excellent butter.

This is a great place to visit, in our case for lunch. The classic building is beautiful, the staff very friendly, the food excellent and the atmosphere great. And when they do something about the old chair I was seated in, the whole experience will rise further to the top.

Attended our friends wedding here, it was a fantastic day everything was great, the venue, the food, the staff, the entertainment - everything. The toastmaster was a first class nutter. There was a man called Paul Guard singing throughout the meal in a suit getting people involved which was quality, he really got the crowd hyper and laughing.

The staff we encountered were good at their job, their boss Dave ran a tight ship and it worked like clockwork. Special mention to the tall lad with a dodgy beard and his friend with the most defined cheek bones known to man, the handsome little bugger, who kept us topped up with wine and served us all night, very friendly and cheerful although i think they might of been robbing us at nearly a fiver for a gin and tonic?

We couldn't get a room here as they were all sold out but wasn't much of a problem as we don't live too far away (Padiham) but meant we couldnt join the after party after the music stopped as it was room charge only, but i can accept that its probably like that in most hotels.

All in all i can only hope my wedding day is half as good as this was.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A four star country house hotel providing luxury accommodation at the heart of the fabulous Ribble Valley. Our big idea for bringing this magnificent 15th Century manor house back to life was to take it back to its roots and make it feel like a home again. Somewhere that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. Stunning interior design and decoration perfectly complement the ancient architectural features to create a contemporary country house hotel. Both effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic. The ambience is quite unique. It is certainly luxurious and feels exclusive but the luxury and exclusivity are open to all. From a relaxing morning coffee or afternoon tea, to lunch or dinner and for everything in between. ... more   less
