“Two weddings in a week, both wonderful.”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Attend two weddings in a week at Mitton Hall, and have to say both were wonderful occasions. The setting of Mitton Hall is beautiful inside and out, with great scenic views for photographs. Both receptions were bucks fizz or champagne with canapés, followed by a three course meal and coffee with mints. The food on both occasions was first class. We did not stay over, but believe the rooms are lovely and reasonably priced. This is an ideal venue for a wedding.

We visited Mitton Hall for my sister's wedding and were impressed by the 'away from it all location' and the lovely roaring open fire in the reception room on arrival. Our room was one of the hotel suites and it was stunning, albeit the bathroom was freezing - but probably because it was so huge!

The wedding itself was lovely, although my only down point would be that the hotel staff had a strange habit of 'locking' you in the reception venue area.

A couple of times I tried to go back to my room only to find the door that I had come through locked which meant you had to go outside to get back into the main part of the hotel.

When my husband questioned this one of the staff said that they don't allow wedding guests into the main part of the hotel to disturb other guests.

Given that my sister was paying thousands of pounds to have her wedding there, the majority of the guests were also staying in the hotel and I had paid a lot to stay there, I would have expected to have been able to go where I wanted and certainly not to be 'locked in' by bossy staff members.

My view is that this needs to be thought out more.

Otherwise a really lovely stay.

We cannot recommend Mitton Hall highly enough. The staff make you so welcome, the hall itself is a wonderful old building beautifully restored and the food is well prepared , cooked and served. In addition to using the restaurant we took advantage of the special offer of a meal and accomodation....everything was just so and the standard of service is far superior to the Michelin star place which is only a few miles up the road.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are good but the suites are brilliant, especially the ones with a river view

What can I say pure indulgence an amazing meal from the free slate with homemade mini bread loaves with olives & butter to the great steaks and Sunday roasts. Crisp thick table linen, solid cutterly, great wine and champagne menu. Great adult dinning.

My one and only criticism is that given it is 5* dinning the restaurant is very very cold and the odd plug in heater really doesn't help or look good. If only they could sort out the heating I'd be there far more in winter as its great value with great flavoured food in beautiful surroundings.

Me and my Husband had our Wedding Day on 2nd November 2012. It was the most Amazing Day!! The staff are simply ahead of their game and are completely at hand for anything and everything!

I put my heart and sole into my Wedding Day planning and was lucky to be able to dress our room the day before - I turned up with a transit full to capacity with all my decor and was greeted by the lovely staff who helped off load. Along with family and friends 6 hours later we were done! The staff passed on some wonderful comments on how fanastic the room looked even saying they had never seen anything like it - all my hard work had paid off ☺

The day finally arrived and as most brides I was very nervous but the very unique Dave
( Master of Ceremonies) made me feel calm and looked after. Everything I asked for on the day was done and done to the highest standard and most importantly with a smile. They really looked after us.

The ceremony was beautiful, the food was absolutely AMAZING and all my guests were submerged into the most wonderful day helped massivley by the warmness of Mitton and the Mitton staff.

People are still talking about our wedding like it was yesterday. We really impacted on people largely by all the thought and hard work that we put into our day but also because of our choosen venue.

Mitton Hall is by far the best choice for your wedding. From the moment you book the girls
( Wedding Coordinators) Sarah and the 2 Vickies are there every step of the way to answer any queries leading upto the big day. They really are worth their weight in gold because believe me I did send send them many emails!

By nature I am a perfecionist and too be honest it was PERFECT in everyway.

Thank you Mitton Hall we will never ever forget this day.

Leesa ♥ Dave Riding xxxx

Our wedding on 9th of november at Mitton Hall was the most perfect experience and made all the more amazing by the incredible support and service we recieved from the staff at Mitton Hall. They could not be more accomodating or helpful thus making every little part of the day so easy with their constant assistance and help. The venue is breathtaking, the rooms exquisite and only matched by the magnificence of the menu. The two-day stay was problem free and every detail was covered. Its the perfect venue for a stress free wedding in the grandest of surroundings with support unmatched anywhere else I have stayed. I must say a special, special thankyou to Vicky and Marlon Broomes at Mitton who ensured that my bride and i had simply the best and most memorable day of our lives. Mr and Mrs Berry

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are value for money but i do reccomend any of the suites

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A four star country house hotel providing luxury accommodation at the heart of the fabulous Ribble Valley. Our big idea for bringing this magnificent 15th Century manor house back to life was to take it back to its roots and make it feel like a home again. Somewhere that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. Stunning interior design and decoration perfectly complement the ancient architectural features to create a contemporary country house hotel. Both effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic. The ambience is quite unique. It is certainly luxurious and feels exclusive but the luxury and exclusivity are open to all. From a relaxing morning coffee or afternoon tea, to lunch or dinner and for everything in between. ... more   less
