Quite friendly and often quite busy. Good atmosphere and often hosts live music!

The last meal we had there was very good but previously wasn't as good. Management may have changed in the interim.

We visited as a family whilst staying with our daughter in Chorley. There was a large outside seating area and a small play area for children, ideal for our two grandsons. The Inn had a good selection of real ales, something we are very keen on. During the afternoon we must have spent in excess of £40 on drinks and snacks and could well have stayed for a meal. My daughter however, had brought some fruit drinks for the boys with her which was obviously noticed by the landlady/barmaid when she came outside for a cigarette. We were confronted shortly afterwards by a very rude and inhospitable landlord who told us if we wanted to visit would we not bring "our own drinks" and proceeded to tell us how costly the rent and rates were on the Inn. He gave us no opportunity for response, we could have given him reasons why our grandsons could have only what we had brought with us. He just yelled and walked away. Obviously we did not spend enough at his bar to be entitled to any respect or good manners from him. We decided not to stay for dinner! This pub could be a real gem for families, within walking distance of much local housing. Unfortunately the very poor attitude displayed to us will ensure that we never visit again.

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Ley Inn - we only go because it is within walking distance so there is no need to drive. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice pub, friendly staff and the usual pub grub with over cooked vegetables. They have a function room and restaurant and nice outdoor beer garden with child friendly play area. It's not fine dining.

A homely friendly pub. The menu was varied and the food good value for money served by friendly attentive staff
