I like staying at Premier Inns as you know what to expect and they are good value. This Premier Inn is in a nice location and the buildings are pretty. We were allocated a room in the 'stable block' which was clean, modern with a comfy king size bed and nice clean bright bathroom. We did hear a little noise from people revving car engines around midnight which was probably from people leaving the pub opposite. The rest of the night was lovely and quiet.
We had stayed in another Premier Inn in West Didsbury the previous night which had set a high standard expecially when it came to breakfast and this one was no where near the same standard. We had to wait some time by the 'please wait to be seated sign' before a member of staff appeared. We were then allocated a grubby table. I dont know whether there was a shortage of staff as the whole experience was completely unorganised. Almost most things we wanted had to be asked for e.g. teaspoons, cereal spoon, coffee, orange juice, white bread for toast. The whole buffet area was completely uncared for and needed replenishing although we were there 45 mins before the end of the time that breakast was due to be finished. The staff need more training on customer service and how to keep the area looking 'cared for'. This was in complete contrast to the West Didsbury Premier Inn breakfast which could not be faulted. Maybe the staff from Malthouse Farm should be sent to West Didsbury for some staff training! The few staff that were there seemed to be running back and forth from the kitchen with items that other customers were also requesting. When they did replenish items they would only bring out a bare minimum which meant they had to keep returning to the kitchen for more. Why not put more out to save the extra trips?
I would certainly recommend the hotel and feel that it offers good value for money but I think if we were to book here again we would not bother with breakfast and would eat elsewhere.
