“Fantastic Mini Break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2010

We have just returned from a mini break at the Park Hall Hotel at Chorley, staying on a Camelot Easter Break special and I wished we had booked for longer. For the price that we paid, we arrived at the hotel waiting for the small print or the reason why it such good value but it never came. On arrival, the hotel reception look modern and impressive and the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possble. They even realised that we had arrived early and allowed us to check into our room as it was available, a complete bonus as it meant that we were stood at the Camelot Theme Park gates at 10am, calm, settled and ready for the fun ahead. And what fun, we had, we have two small children 4 and 6 and the park was perfect for their needs and I would say from 3 years to 15/6 year olds, as it has a good mix of rides for all the family, staffed again with amazingly pleasant staff.
After about 4pm. the children could take no more fun so we left to go and check out the leisure area. Again, a great facility, it is supervised by strict staff, has a little too much chlorine but on the up side, you know that your children are safe and that everything is clean. We dined at Sam's american diner which was great if you have children although if you have older ones or none at all, I would choose the restaurant instead. The staff were amazing here again, although they were busy as all families seem to sit at the same time, they still had a smile and were eager to please. We didn't check out the children's entertainment as the children had their fill by this time.

In conclusion, this was a cracking trip with what seems to be a hotel which has been recently taken over. Their rebuilding strategy seems to staff with the right people and reinvest in facilities. I certainly will be keeping an eager eye out for future offers!!

It was Brilliant the Staff are always friendly and the hotel and the village is always immaqulate. I have stayed once ever year and has never dissapointed me. The rooms are lovely and practical and the hotel is easy to get to with the village right beside it. The value is good for the money its worth and the beds are comfy so i always got a good nights sleep. The breakfasts were lovely and i never had to wait for a long time to get my meal. Also the Medival banquets are brilliant and i would recommended this hotel and village to anyone!

Reception welcoming, great staff, great food, great Medieval Banquet - can highly recommend it and dressing up in medieval costumes a must!!
Bedrooms very nice and clean.
Swimming pool and gym great, though pool a bit cold.
The only downside was breakfast, the restaurant was very nice as was the food and the staff, but in the bedroom it says on Sat & Sun breakfast is served 7.30am to 10.30am but when some friends of ours turned up at 10.25, they were refused breakfast as the staff said it fininshed at 10am, it was only the intervention of other guests that they got anything to eat. We also had to que for a long time to get in the restaurant and for the hot buffet where there was only one member of staff serving breakfast, and whilst we were queing our table was given away to other guests, which we found out happend to quite a few other guests!! But would definately recommend the hotel and would definately go back.

I stayed at this hotel twice last year and again last week.

I've read some of the reviews and quite frankly I can't believe that they are referring to the same hotel. I stay at a number of hotels on business and this is one of my favourites, the staff are alway very friendly and make you feel welcome, great leisure especially the gym and the hotel has a lovely setting with easy access of M6 (just behind Charnock Richard Service Station).

Since I last stayed the hotel has new owners and they're refurbishing - I had a refurbished bedroom and it was of a really high standard.

My only negative experience was a short wait at the bar as the barman had disappeared for a couple of minutes.

I would recommend this hotel and will certainly stay here again

After reading previous reviews I was very sceptical avout staying at Park Hall. We had stayed there a couple of years ago & thought the room was a bit tired but overall had enjoyed it. Our 2 boys (15 & 12) love Camelot & as the hotel is ideally placed for a visit to the theme park we decided to return. Our family room had been recently refurbished & was spotlessly clean, we had booked 3 nights DB &B, we thoroughly enjoyed all the meals we ate in the hotel restaurant & the staff could not have been more helpful. We used the pool & facilities every day & although children are not allowed in the adults jacuzzi they do have their own smaller one so do not feel left out. There are lots of rules about using the pool but the health club does also have private members so only fair really that kids are not allowed to run riot there! The boys had a wonderful time at Camelot & we would definitely return to Park Hall.

Had stayed previously and ok would never return again. The village accommodation was still the same decoration as origingal stay 8 years ago. My Son was not allowed in one of the jacuzzis as it was for adults only even though he was with us and just sitting quietly talking to us. Food in restaurant on night very poor, good job it was three course as I could only eat the meat it was a roast dinner with spicy vegetable to accompany.

Room within the Village was one of the wosrt we have ever stayed in, would rate it zero if possible. Supposedly refurbished 3 weeks ago the carpet was stained, something had been ripped out of the wall and not repaired, curtains were tatty, pillows were stained and the walls were very thin. Breakfast was a shambles and under staffed, so service was diabolical. It is completely overpriced for what it is. Will hopefully never have the displeasure of having to stay again.
