Shop – From clothing and footwear to home furnishings and gifts, Botany Bay is home to many small and unique independent sellers as well as big name brands. We have an all year round garden centre and a Victorian style foodhall packed with local produce that offers a real taste of Lancashire. Plus, our Christmas Shop which is open from September to February each year, is a stunning experience not to be missed! Dine – Throughout the mill there’s a choice of cafes and a licensed restaurant serving anything from breakfast and light snacks to three course meals. Play – Always popular with visitors is our collection of vintage penny slot machines, one of the largest in the UK. We stage a number of events throughout the year, plus our prime position on the Leeds & Liverpool canal offers a wonderful opportunity for leisurely strolls.

Plenty to look at and to purchase. Lots of unique things to buy and a great building. I love returning here.

“Mixed review”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

My first visit to Botany Bay left me with mixed feelings. Our 6-year old grandson loved the play area but the cafe within this area was in need of refurb - patched carpet, sticky, very well used furniture but pleasant, friendly staff. The Christmas shop was good with a wide variety of goods, well set out and again with friendly staff. My overall feeling for the rest of the shop was that there were far too many goods on display, using up every available space and this made it difficult to properly view things but there is something to suit everyone. The food area on the ground floor had a good variety of food options for a snack or something more substantial.
Would I go back? Possibly but not for some time.
I agree with previous comments regarding the car park - it is full of potholes and very poorly maintained.

This was my first visit to Botany Bay and thought it was fantastic, what a selection of Christmas decorations oldie worldly - modern something for everyone's taste. All the little shops where you can pick up some real bargains. My husband and i spent 4 hours going around the store. and we found the staff very polite and helpful. Well worth a visit.

“Waste of space”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

As the title says, what a waste of space. We went in expecting a real treat, especially the much touted foodhall, yet half if not more of the shops in there are shut. No fishmonger anymore and friend told us about the Italian deli but thats not there either and there must have been half a dozen other shop units up for rent. The cafe was very grubby and we did'nt bother with a drink, decided to get a coffee in the ice cream shop but it stunk of off milk or off ice cream, but either way it stunk so we gave that a miss too. Walked up the first flight of stairs and the offering was pretty poor and a mish mash of allsorts, so after a brief 20 minute visit we decided not to bother walking up to the higher floors and to leave. So if your planning a visit, save yourself the time, trouble and petrol, its the biggest waste of space in the northwest.
