The service was the highlight of the evening.
My partner had steak- wasnt asked how he wanted it done.
My korma was nice but there was t much of it.
I've had the funky pie twice. I'd recommend it.
There is just too much on the menu. We counted 13 desserts not including coffees or liquors!
It's expensive for the food.
I wouldn't rush back. They do takeaway but you have to collect. If they delivered and cut their prices, wed get takeaways from there now and again.

After our recent trip to Devon we were really looking forward to a good curry, now Devon know all about cream tea's but what they know about curry could be written in felt tip on the back of a postage stamp! A quick phone call and we had a table booked at the Elephant ( there's no blue these days due to some sort of trademark issue!) When we arrived we went straight to our table with a drinks order taken and drinks and menu's delivered promptly. We ordered starters and main courses, and waited for the feast to arrive, the starters arrived swiftly piping hot and tasty, after we were finished and plates cleared they asked if we were ready for our main course, this arrived complete with table warmers, red hot plates and the whole meal on a trolley, no waitng about for things to arrive here! The mains were as good as the starters, no food colourings, or one sauce does all wonders, everything's cooked from scratch to order, I know as my favorite was dropped from the menu when it was last updated but they still prepare it for me if I ask for it, in fact if you want it any way at all you only have to ask, but don't be all "English" about it, tell them exactly how you want it, and they will do their very best to please you.

if you want a good indian its here the food is very good .the atmosphere is also good the only thing that let it down slightly was the service was a bit haphazard some parts were very good the waitress was excellent they were very busy as it was weekend so maybe they were short staffed
but the quality of the food made up for it
there is a large car park at rear i would suggest booking to make sure you have a table
well worth a try

The meal it was nothing short of fantastic. Guided to an adequately sized circular table suited the group well. The favourable start of popadoms and dips was great and don’t worry, there was ample chutney to meet the need. Starters included Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken and Duck Tikka. In short there was not a problem in sight. Portion sizes were just right and the taste was just enough to drawer your attention to the imminently closer real thing.

After just enough time for the conversation to flow and a delightful exchange with the waiter, we welcomed the main course. From the Elephant specials section, the Lamb Chop Curry was invited, a classic Lamb Dansak got the nod (well, you have to don’t you!), a lively Chicken Balti made an appearance and of course the captain of the ship, our standard taste-testing dish the Chicken Tikka Masala came and led the team well. Not a grumble in sight as the Club devoured their respective dishes. At this point it must be said the dishes on the whole were playing it a little on the safe side. It didn’t disappoint but simultaneously it failed to risk scoring some of the higher points when it came to taste. Don’t be mistaken though, it was a delightful meal and all participants were more than happy with the value.

We got to the restaurant just after 6pm and received a warm welcome, and straight away we were seated. We ordered a selection of dishes to share as our two boys had never been to an indian restaurant before. Food was served very quickly and was delicious, rich in flavour and the meat was tender. The staff were very friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. We would definately go again.
