“excellent Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

25.Nov.12.
Just spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at the Ram inn at Cliviger. The cold afternoon was forgotten with a table for 4 sat near the open fire with logs burning merrily, next to that was a Christmas tree with snow pouring from the top, through the branches. Lovely ambiance. It's self service from the bar and ordering food, but the menu is throrough and the food was excellently presented and extremely tasty. I had a unique beef and red wine pie. Lovely square, deep filled pie. Other meals were rump steak, gammon and salmon. All were said to be tasty, lovely food. The sticky-toffee pudding to follow was a dream.
All in all, well worth the visit for a wonderful meal, 3 courses with a bottle of wine and coffees for £73. Congratulations to the staff, we will be coming back.

“Going again!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

Called in at the Ram this afternoon with my dad and brother, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, there was quite a few customers in but were served very quickly.
My brother and I had the combo for sharing, as a starter, (see photo), The 3 of us ate as much as we dared, we were worried about the size of the main course if this was a starter! Babs then brought us a plastic container to put the rest in to take home for everyone else to try.
The main courses were then brought in, not overpowering in size but certainly not small portions.
Between us we had the chicken pie, chicken melt and cumberland sausage and mash.
The only bad comment was that the sausage skin was very chewy, everything else was superb!
Will absolutely visit again. The views to the rear of the pub are stunning, can picture sitting out there in the summer with a pint and a meal. Dave H.

“Family Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

We've eaten at The Ram Inn quite a few times, and it was our venue of choice today. There were four adults and one child. The girls behind the bar were very friendly and made us welcome with hello and smiles. Drinks were ordered and served promptly, manners were used throughout.I asked for the childrn's menu and was taken to where they were, as the menu is part menu and part colouring activities, crayons were provided immediately. The food was delivered and it was nice not to be constantly bothered with "is everything ok?", the waitresses just passed by and smiled and said if there's anything you need, just ask. The food was well presented, tasty and all the plates were empty. The next round of drinks wre served at the table. We had mains and puds - two for one on puds!!! I love puddings. it was no trouble when we asked the waitress for a small spoon for Samanta, it came straight away!!!
Excellent food, excellent, friendly and polite serice, good value and a nice clean venue.
Well done to Warren and the team Thank yo for a fantastic family lunch xx

“First time on a Sunday”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

1.30 on a Sunday and the car park was busy, but inside not so? maybe people are parking and walking around the area. We were 4 + 1 year old, Pedro Beer was very tasty small selection of beer but good.
Starters arrived in good time and were good as is the menu, mains were also OK but the time it took to arrive was far too long, looking round there were not so many to make it feel they were busy.
It is a comfortable place and we will be back.
