Waited over an hour for mediocre food, with orders messed up when they eventually arrived. An apology would have gone a long way, instead got an obnoxious "we only have one kitchen!". Wish I'd stayed at home.

the shop and the cakes that is. Lovely homemade fare and wonderful lattes - what more can you ask for on a wintery afternoon

This is one of my favourite eateries in Whitstable. The breakfasts are great, as are the homemade cakes. I also love the atmosphere. They don't try to get above the fact that they are a cafe. I love the facility to buy newspapers too. Big overflow section upstairs is useful on a Sunday when it can get packed. Don't expect fuss or luxury but the atmosphere's great and the staff are friendly (and usually efficient).

I love stopping in this little cafe for a sandwich and a cup of coffee. The bread is lovely & fresh and the homemade cakes are delicious.
Sit at the bar and watch the world go by.
I believe they also open in this evening when you can bring your own booze, although i have only been in the day.
