The hotel has been recently refurbished and I must say in looks very nice. The last time we stayed, some of the rooms were up graded and now the rest of the hotel and been completely done. We booked late, so the rate was higher than I wanted to pay, but still the room was very nice and the whole place has a good feel about.

After being recommended the sirloin steak by a very well presented member of staff I have to say I was very happy with my choice. The food arrived at our table prompt. The steak was cooked to perfection and the onion rings looked homemade. The service was what I expected.....second to none. I will be telling my friends. Cant wait to return. Well done shepherd neame, and lets not forget the staff. Thank you for a great time.

Room Tip: Seaview with balcony are hard to beat

We stayed here recently while attending a wedding in Canterbury.
The location is amazing, right on the sea front.

We arrived just before they finished serving food after a long journey and were checked in quickly and directed to the bar to order before the kitchen closed. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.

Our 3rd floor room was spacious and had a gorgeous view over the seafront. The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and it shows in every detail. It has been well thought out and really well done.

The breakfasts were great. Plenty of choice and again the food was delicious and served by warm and friendly staff.

We honestly can't think of anything negative, we had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

thanks for a great stay

I visited and stayed at the Marine Hotel for a friend's wedding - what a superb location! The hotel has had a recent refurb, so I cannot comment on how it looked before but it was really lovely, stylish and comfortable. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and venue ideal for that special day - you could see the bay from the window in the main function room. My bedroom and bathroom were great too. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

For some reason, i was expecting this to be a pub that offered accommodation - but it wasnt. It is definitely a hotel - and a pretty good one at that!
We had booked a room with a sea view, and this was what we got. The room was nicely appointed, with a comfy double bed, nice bedding, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, and bedside tables. The bathroom was a bit small, (shower over bath) but was well finished. My only disappointment would be that the windows for the sea view were quite small. The room was partly in the eaves of a "dormer" and so there wasnt much space for a window. Next time i will stay in one of the "Deluxe" rooms with a sea view as these have a full aspect onto the sea. Having said that though, the room was really comfy, nicely decorated and quiet.
Breakfast was a great selection of cereal, fresh fruit, and then various items cooked to order. There was the usual "Full English" but this was complemented by Eggs benedict, eggs florentine, poached haddock and kippers. I had the eggs benedict both days and they were perfect!!
The bar area is mainly used by residents - probably as the prices are that of a hotel and not a pub - but it still had a good atmosphere. It was very comfortable to be in at the end of a day.
We didnt eat there, but the food looked really good.
There is car parking at the front and rear, and street parking was easy too.
All the staff were very friendly, and willing to help.
The hotel is about a 10min walk into town, but its a nice walk along the sea front and past the harbour where there are opportunities to eat and drink.
A really good place to stay
