On holiday and marked this as a must visit bar. Been in 4 nights and found everyone friendly and happy to have a good conversation. Our Dog has also been made welcome and fed biscuits. As a keen CAMRA member I can confirm the beer quality is top class. Can recommend the selection of cheeses on offer. Full marks to the owners for creating a great environment- Awards will come soon.

At first sight the tables and accompanying tall chairs surrounding the walls of this micro pub would suggest a classroom, but the lessons to be learned are all pleasurable.

Namely the variety that can be found in a limited range of real ales and ciders when, as here, they are well kept and carefully served. The small size of 'the Arms' and the friendly owners make the conversation flow as freely as the drinks.

Food isn't a top priority - unusual in 'foodie-centric Whitstable - but, as another reviewer has said, the local cheese is of excellent quality, and priced very reasonably. In warm weather a perfect snack to eat at one of the outside tables. A pity that space didn't allow more, particularly for 'oldies' who can't climb up onto the indoor chairs.

Parking at the nearby Tankerton Road Car Park until the local authority carries out its plan to
use it as a site for housing.

Best thing to have happened in our area for a long time and my husband I are now regulars. A friendly pub, lovely setting and great beer selection. Cider, wine, soft drinks and snacks also available. I disagree with the reviewer who said it was 'sterile' there are lots of interesting things to look at and the furnishings were specially made and don't look like flat pack ikea! It is great to chat to other customers as there is no music or tv. It is also dog friendly and visiting pooches are given a special treat. It has been lovely sitting outside in the warm weather but we are equally looking forward to visiting on cold, wintery nights. Great pub!

Living only 5 minutes away from the Tankerton Arms we have somehow managed not to visit this pub until last evening. I am glad to say we thourowly enjoyed the experience!

The beers and local cider went down a treat and the "cheese and biscuits" were lovely - local cheese, loads of crackers, Whitstable chutney along with some pickles.

Nice friendly relaxed atmosphere too.

We will be going back.

We dropped in for a beer before eating out in Tankerton after walking past this place a couple of times.
Very much what pubs of the past would have been like - benches and tables down either side of the open room, no bar just a cool room at the back with barrels racked up.
Well kept local beers and ciders, when we visited they had 4 local ales and 3 local ciders on, limited wine was available, snacks were available including the local cheese.
If you like the noise, lights and jazz of a modern "pub" then you are going to be disappointed. If however you are looking for we'll kept local ales in convivial surroundings, good company and conversation then this is the place for you. Mobile phones banned in the bar!
The clientele are not really late night drinkers but I would like to see longer hours - this may be a licensing issue.
