We dropped in for a beer before eating out in Tankerton after walking past this place a couple of times.
Very much what pubs of the past would have been like - benches and tables down either side of the open room, no bar just a cool room at the back with barrels racked up.
Well kept local beers and ciders, when we visited they had 4 local ales and 3 local ciders on, limited wine was available, snacks were available including the local cheese.
If you like the noise, lights and jazz of a modern "pub" then you are going to be disappointed. If however you are looking for we'll kept local ales in convivial surroundings, good company and conversation then this is the place for you. Mobile phones banned in the bar!
The clientele are not really late night drinkers but I would like to see longer hours - this may be a licensing issue.

Micro pubs are a simple concept. Good beer, often locally sourced, no distractions and places of conversation. It started with the Butchers Arms in Herne and similar pubs are starting up throughout the country. We visited the Tankerton Arms last Sunday and it ticked all the boxes. The pub was clean, full of breweriana and serving beer of exceptional quality. Pubs like this will prosper further in the future and a short stroll from the seafront is well worth the effort in finding this one.

Excellent atmosphere in here every time we visit. Always full of locals to chat to. No music , no telly - great. The beer and wine are good.. Tuesday and Wednesday nights are good days to go as it is a little quieter......it can be very crowded at the weekend ..but there is seating outside too. I thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Great place, full of locals. We got to try some of the ales before we decided which to buy. A really welcome change from noisy pubs, yet still full of character and atmosphere. We will be going back.
