No lift, steep stairs, very unsuitable for elderly or anyone needing assistance to the bedrooms. No quiet lounge for residents.
The bar area was full of the general public, mostly accompanied by their dog or dogs, leaving very little room for paying guests.
Close to the sea but as a Hotel, not good value and I certainly would not re-book.

We would never recommend the hotel to anyone with mobility issues because as you say we do not have a lift and for insurance reasons we cannot physically aid anyone up the stairs. We are always happy to assist with luggage.

Our bar and restaurant are open to the general public but only one out of three large areas is dog friendly.

Kind regards

We stayed here for one night after a local family wedding.
The hotel is in a lovely location, right on the seafront.
Our room very clean and comfortable however it was very small and had a view of the car park at the rear. We had a good night sleep and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Well presented and hot with lovely quality produce and products.
The staff were professional and friendly.
However based on the room size I dont think this hotel is really worth the price tag.

It's a clean and pleasant hotel. I've stayed here over the years a few times both on business and pleasure and have seen it change, The hotel has been modernised since my last stay. The rooms seem much smaller, we had a double bedroom which could just about fit a double bed in (Room 6) also the walls are paper thin, we could hear everything and I mean everything our neighbours were doing also the aircon unit outside can be quite noisy, all this can be annoying and not what you would expect from an idyllic location like this.
On the positive side we did have a shower/bath and a balcony overlooking the carpark
The hotel can be quite pricey depending when your booking weekends expect a premium, especially as there can be limited accommodation in Whitstable as it becomes more and more popular with tourists.
The internet here is really good also the breakfast is delicious, Full hearty english, continental and helpful staff etc...
There is a free carpark and check in was easy with no problems.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Whitstable village centre mostly along the seafront.

Room Tip: Room 6 is small and can be noisy

We we went with another couple who were treating us as a gift. The hotel is perfectly placed on the beach front easy walking distance to the town centre. We were directed up a staircase to the 1st floor were we found our Sea facing room. The room, similarly to the rest of the hotel, was quirky. A good sized bed that filled most of the room, which was very comfortable. We had a large bathroom and I finally found the wardrobe, a pole attached to the wall with 4 hangers on it. We were only staying the 1 night so that was fine. The room had character and with the wooden blinds open, lovely and bright. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, bringing up an ice bucket for our bubbly whilst were were parking the car. The car park at the back of the building is tiny but they have a bigger one about 2 mins walk away. The breakfast was buffet style with good ingredients and they were able to freshly poach eggs. They have guest Wi Fi. We would definitely return.

We pre book an overnight stay to meet up with a cousin visiting from Germany so that we could take her and family to the Whitstable Oyster Company Restaurant 15 minutes walk away. The hotel was nicely and newly decorated and the room was comfortable and spacious. The pillows could have been just a bit softer though. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice available.
