Nice position - very peaceful, nice food if you just want snacks. Car park is a bit small but if full there is usually parking on the road outside - worth a walk to the sea - turn right out of the gate.

Excellent location ,not many steps, there is no steps to the tea rooms which are bright and well presented. A good day out lunch menu was a little limited but otherwise excellent. The grounds are wonderful .

Spent a lovely 3 hours at Whitstable Castle. It was sunny and hot but there were plenty of places to sit under the trees. The staff had put out large umbrellas to sit under when you wanted to sit at tables to drink. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. As another couple got and left I sat down at the table. The member of staff was immediately out, wiping the table and apologising for not having done it before I sat down. I ordered cream tea and there was enough tea for two large cups. The scone was enormous and delicious and it was a struggle fitting all the cream and jam on the halves. It was a lovely relaxing time.

The castle has lovely grounds and is a lovely place to stop for refreshments.
You can walk along the hill top afterwards and enjoy the sea views.

The Whitstable castle is a popular wedding destination and with good reason. Set in lovely well tended grounds this former family home has been restored to its former beauty thanks to lottery funds. But thats not all, almost by the beach the castle now has a fantastic play park for 0-10 year olds including a wooden pirate ship, swing, roundabout and hidden treasure. Its worth a trip either for yourself or for your children and if you get tired try the orangerie/ tea room. The food is well priced and delicious.
