Light and airy conservatory style tea room overlooking the Castle gardens. We visited late August on a Sunday afternoon. There was an antique fair in the upper floors of the Castle. We had a cream tea which was very enjoyable. Lovely fresh scones, plenty of cream and jam. An ideal way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.

My husband and i take our 2 year old daughter here an awful lot as we live in the next town. It's a lovely place to take children as there is lots of spcae for them to run around and also a play park. There is parking in the grounds and also outside the castle on the main road. The cafe always looks busy, we have not tried it ourselves however.

Lovely renovation works the castle and gardens. The children's playground is fantastic and lots of apparatus to keep the children amused for quite a while. Shame the cafe doesn't quite reach the standard you'd expect - lovely setting but overpriced and cakes not good.

It was mid October and the weather was not too good, but then we came upon this lovely little castle. On entry we were asked if we would like a guided tour, so we accepted and had our own tour. The castle is small but well worth a visit, especially as there is no entrance fee, donations only. The gardens would be best admired during the summer months, but we could see the potential. The coffee house in the basement was extremely good with a lot of people eating and drinking - we just had tea and cake, but that was excellent.

Homemade food, large pots of tea, real eating experience not the chain store ping ping nonsense
Lovely cakes, sandwiches etc , good friendly service and lovely grounds. Seaside, harbour and the Town nice and close. good childrens play facilities outside in the pretty grounds to let the younger family members work off their energy.
affordable prices. A great option for families and friends alike.
