A tea, a coffee and two mini quiches with a salad garnish - £17.90. The quiches were microwaved so that the pastry was soft and chewy, the salad garnish was drowned in vinaigrette dressing. We were not asked if we wanted the quiches heated up in this way nor whether we wanted the dressing. The board outside advertises home made pies but all that was available were clingfilmed pots of cottage pie and the aforementioned quiche. Rubbish.

This was the weakest cup of coffee I have ever been served, so weak it was almost transparent.. after I complained I was given another cup.. this was so strong you could almost stand a spoon up in it ….. spitefully on purpose ? Staff seemed ignorant of the fact of good customer service, no niceties at all, in fact quite miserable….

After being served an English breakfast where the sausages, bacon and eggs were rock solid, we were met with an appalling attitude from the member of staff who wanted to charge for toast, having forgotten to bring the butter for it! She proceeded to argue and even stated that the food was ok despite the fact that we couldn't eat any of it. If you want a microwave breakfast, this is the place for you, if not, give it a wide berth. There were no apologies or understanding; a complete lack of customer service.

Nice to sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by, but food can be mediocre and they have a tendency to run out of things!

Probably my favourite eatery in Tenterden town centre. Owned and run by the London Beach Hotel folk it's a classy but still 'local' place. Their food is predominantly locally sourced (for instance, their 'pie of the day' might be recently shot pheasant or venison) and genuinely delicious. The current manager is an absolutely lovely lady who handmakes several of the cakes and they are just perfection (please try either the banana cake or the CHOCOLATE BANANA CAKE). Staff are nice and friendly. The only downside is the price, which might be a little steeper than some are willing to pay. Totally worth it in my opinion.
