“Ordinary and very overpriced. Go elsewhere”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

We popped in for a quick lunch. The first thing to note is that he wheelchair ramp is rather steep- ok if you have some nerve!

The sandwiches are very expensive indeed. We paid nearly £50 for 7 sandwiches and a 5 drinks. This would have been perfectly acceptable if the wuality had been good enough but unfortunately, it was not. We were served cheap sliced supermarket sliced bread, with various fillings (not bad, just very average- and therefore worthy of only average prices). The ''pinch of chips' was in fact a few tortilla chips and not 'chips' therefore rather misleading.
Also the lettuce garnish was past its best and the edges pf most leaves had gone mushy.

The prices for sandwiches range from £5.75 for a BLT to £9.25 for a crab baguette. 75p extra for a baguette is just plain greedy.

The toilets are Shabby and tired, clean but smelly.

The serving staff were perfectly pleasant and the food arrived promptly however the kitchen staff were heard to have muttered 'boring crowd'when our sandwich order was placed.

Overall, it was ok but a sandwich and a bag of crisps from a supermarket, sitting on a bench would have been far superior.

“Lunch at Fisherman's Wharf Sandwich”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Had luch here, an la Carte menu, a "Special lunch menu" and a "
"Set lunch menu" were available as well as "lite bites" I ate off the Set Menu my wife chose from the "Special Lunch menu" they were able to accomodate requests like no cheese topping on the fish pie etc. The food was tasty, the waitresses competent and attentive, pricing was reasonable for what we had, the visit enhanced our half day in Sandwich.

“not happy with surcharge”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Booked for a celebration, nice view from upstairs resturant, waitress good service, food we was served was all home cooked, you coukd tell it was, but it could have been better, pate too dry, roast dinner we got only 2 small roast potatoes and a small jacket potatoe, veg could have been more varied, only got cauli and carrots, yourkshire pudding dreadful, the size of a saucer, quarter inch thick and like rubber inside, had chocolate fudge cake for pudding with ice cream, cake nice but only given a very small slice,
When i got the bill a 10% surcharge had been added which i had not been made aware of, it was not displayed on the menu board outside or on the menu i had been issued to take with me, it may be on the resturant menus, but as we had pre ordered the food we had no need for menus on the table
There was two of us paying the bill as we had invited the other guests ,the 10% surcharge was steep for us to fork out on top of paying the bill, so we will not be returning again,
I know we could have requested the surcharge be removed but embarassing in front of our guests,

“Frozen Fish and Plastic Chips”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

We visited at lunchtime it was appalling. Two people had fish and chips, a piece of frozen battered fish with fries, not chips, which could have come from any fast food outlet. I had fish pie which consisted of some frozen mixed sea food in a tasteless sauce with mashed potato of a poor quality with grated cheese chucked on top. It was, by a very long way, the worst meal we had during a weeks visit to the Kent coast.
