“Friendly staff and good beer!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Unfortunately when I came in, they had just closed the kitchen. However, having just arrived in Sandwich that morning, and not knowing where to go for dinner - because just about everything is either closed or not serving food on a Sunday night, the staff provided me with pleasant conversation, tips on how to get along in the village, where to go for dinner and gave me a map of the village. The Pearl of Kent beer was wonderful too. Outstanding service!

“Beer garden with games”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We just had a couple of drinks in this pub. Staff friendly. Hot evening so went straight in the garden. We enjoyed playing with the giant '4 in a row' and 'jenga' in garden.

“Nice first impression”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Gorgeous olde worlde pub when you first go in. Beer was good (Doombar) and sunshine in the beer garden was lovely. Wish the'd used a strimmer in the garden, it looked a little neglected. Feel inspired to try the food sometime.

“Nice beer”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Slightly strange pub this: we didn't eat, only stopped by for a pint. The beer was well kept, but the atmosphere a bit quiet. It did warm up a bit later, and we were moving on: but I wouldn't have felt tempted to stay and eat

“Simply Repainting the Red Cow Will Not Improve This Pub!”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

Do the Proprietors really think that painting the cow on the facade in pink spots and putting a silly hat on its head will improve the pub´s poor reputation? What a joke! We went there one hot and sunny day in August. We had already enjoyed drinks in the wonderful beer garden at the King´s Arms in Sandwich that same day. Well, talk about night and day!! When we arrived, a group of men were standing at the bar, blocking our path to the garden and seemed reluctant to let us through. One man was smoking (illegally) outside the door. The garden has a lot of potential, but it is so unloved and badly cared for: there were no parasols, but we did manage to sit in part shade near the trees. I´ve never had a good pint here, as the beer was always too warm. Never tried the food, so can´t comment. However, I can say that the people running this pub are in the wrong job, as clearly they have no idea!
