“A welcome addition to the choices in Sandwich”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We managed to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. At one point in the evening every table was filled and consequently it was quite noisy, and with only two staff at front of house there was some waiting time. The food was imaginative, well cooked and nicely presented. Surprised that there were cheap paper napkins - a restaurant like this should have linen! Would be happy to return.

Visited this restaurant today and have to say it was first class cuisine. Desserts especially good. Nice decor and very good service.

“First choice in Sandwich”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Living in Sandwich, we've eaten here a number of times over the last year, and each time has been fantastic. There is always something on the menu to entice - with 5-7 starters and mains - seasonal and, I believe, locally sourced. In fact, it's our first choice of restaurant in town, and locally is probably comparable to 81 Beach St in Deal. Friendly and efficient service, and a great wine list.

Most recently, we've been enjoying a potted gammon starter, and tonight had an excellent sirloin with beef dripping chips, and a succulent venison shank with dauphinoise potatoes. The desserts are a treat - the apple tart with butterscotch sauce is heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth, and the ice creams that accompany the desserts are delicious.

We've also been for Sunday lunch a couple of times, which was good quality at a decent price.

“Restaurant in the heart of Sandwich”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Lovely food, had excellent lunches and evening meals. Lovely patio at the back when its sunny. Sunday lunch was good, different. Good for a large party of people or even just 2 for a romantic dinner.

“ANNIVERSARY DINNER”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

We had a beautiful meal for our anniversary dinner. The Goldstone farm sirloin steak was perfection and my wife's braised lamb was out of this world - so flavoursome and no fattiness.
We started with a shared Kentish blue cheese salad with local pears. The desserts - which we chose first - were lavender milk jelly with local raspberries and shortbread and poached strawberries and lemon cream and tuille biscuit. Sublime.
Although it was mid week there was a happy buzz about the place, the service was excellent and the pace of dining was relaxed.
