“An unspoilt step in history.”

A worthile and excellent visit run by volunteers and enthusiasts. Original working parts of the mill plus an array of agricultural and tradesmens tools of a bygone era.

“More than we imagined”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

We were spending the afternoon in Sandwich and are pleased we decided to visit the Heritage Centre.
There was more here than we first thought, a Millers cottage furnished, laundry, cobblers, forge and of course the windmill itself.
The volunteers are very helpful and interesting.
Can you climb all the way to the top of the windmill???
Parking, dogs welcome, they do teas and coffees and have toilets.
Worth a visit if you are spending time in Sandwich and it only cost us £3.

Yes, you can get to the top - the last leg is a ladder, and a tight squeeze, but the view is worth the effort.

We stopped by this Heritage centre and were pleasantly surprise at the work that has gone on to restore the mill. Definitely worth the visit

“Something different”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

See the past and if you take a young one it makes it even more interesting. A challenge to climb to the top of the mill and see the veiw. talk to the volunteers and learn alot. It can be combined with a visit into Sandwich we went during the Bank Holiday weekend there was lots going on. Also if you have young children there is two play areas one at the Quay and one on the Butts also the river running through with all the ducks the children are happy to feed.
