“Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

We stayed in the Gardener's cottage, we had the whole cottage to ourselfs, 3 couples, it was very well stocked with everything you could need including a well stocked bar. No matter what we asked for was not a problem, very helpful in providing us information on the area. Breakfast the next morning was in the main house which was amazing. Well worth a visit. Looking forward to re-booking !!

Stayed for two nights and had a lovely stay. Sandwich is such a cute town with places to explore, nice pubs and a couple of cracking restaurants recommended to us by the owners, all were spot on! The complimentary bar and bottles of water in the room really do make a difference in making you feel home from home. I would thoroughly recommend a stay if you can afford however if you don't like the idea of people cooing over the stars of Googlebox, best stay out of the Drawing Room late at night after everyone has had a few!

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the smaller rooms in Knightrider House and we were still very happy but if you a...

Just come back from a over night stay in Sandwich Kent. Had a lovely stay at The Salutation, fantastic service, beautiful room, stunning gardens even in the winter months. Was lucky to meet one of the owners Dom who was just as you see on the TV, lovely chap, really friendly, obviously really busy but not to busy to stop to chat, made us feel very welcome. Would love to return in the summer months when the garden will be at it's best. The only thing that I would add is that our room was too hot, so turn the radiator off when you arrive, but I guess this is down to personal choice. Some of restaurants in Sandwich were closed on Monday nights but we found a lovely pub Crispins which had a really lovely atmosphere and tasty food, also had a log fire.

Room Tip: We stayed in the knight Rider Lodge, St. Andrews, room was stunning, we also had use of lounge, dinni...

Amazing part of the country, The salutation is just amazing. If you want total luxury this place is for you, Price is a lot cheaper than the hotels in central London. I love the Don and Steph on gogglebox, Cant wait to see you again.

We had high expectations having read so much about the 'best B&B' in the UK but they proved too high. My husband's 50th birthday celebration weekend ended on a rather flat note. When we arrived we were told that the hotel basement had flooded and so we would be in a different room to that which we had booked. Disappointingly we were not offered a choice of room and the supposed delux room (farrer) was nothing special at all. A disappointing start. When are friends arrived the next day we saw their rooms and although less expensive they were nicer. Dom is undoubtedly a great host if you have the pleasure of his company as we did, but the rest of the stay was nothing special. The house is lovely but so it should be for the prices charged. You could stay in a very nice London hotel for the same price as this one. For hardcore goggle box fans only.

I've not seen gogglebox (yet!) saw this place on 4 in a bed and decided The Salutation with Dom & Steph seemed like the best B&B experience ever and we weren't wrong. Booked for 2 nights and stayed a 3rd as well, sadly they were fully booked on 4th otherwise might have never left!
Simply a fantastic building in lovely grounds (although not at their best in February's gales) it has been very beautifully furnished with luxury in mind. Lucky enough to meet Dom and friends for a couple of evenings, seriously you could not meet more friendly people. Peter (?) who popped up everywhere recommended restaurants when we checked in and when we said we were going to France for the day he disappeared and came back with printed directions to a Michelin Star restaurant in Calais. People who have left any kind of negative comment didn't stay where I stayed!! Don't ever sell it .... don't ever change it ... as it is just perfect.. Thanks for the time at The Salutation...

Room Tip: The Main House, but if you are not in the main house use the lounge and meet the other guests

have spent a fabulous weekend at The Salutation, friendly greeting and was shown to the St Andrews suite in the beautiful cottage which is next to the main house, it was spacious and beautifully decorated. A very comfortable bed with soft Egyptian cotton bedding, a very large bathroom with twin sinks and shower big enough for two! complementary alcohol and mixers and fresh milk for the tea and coffee was a lovely touch. was recommended to eat at the George and Dragon a minute walk away and it was fabulous. breakfast was delicious with quality ingredients and again fabulous service. we will definitely be going again.

Room Tip: st Andrews suite is very spacious with fabulous views of the gardens
