After reading the reviews on trip advisor I had very high expectations of Elvey Farm. I have to say that I was not dissappointed.

The best things:

The room
The slipper bath tub
The service
The breakfast
Scoobie

I would agree with all the previous comments. The service is fantastic. The rooms tastefully decorated. It was a really special night away for my girlfriend and I. We also ate dinner in the restaurant which was very good.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that neither the room nor the restaurant are particularly cheap. Not the world's greatest value but a pleasurable indulgence nonetheless.

Finally, I would strongly recommend the World Heritage Foundation which is nearby for their Big Cat Experience. Truly remarkable.

Stayed at Elvey Farm for two nights with friends, we stayed in the Oast House, there are only two rooms so we had them both along with the use of a private lounge, the accommodation is very good, clean and well presented, we were booked in for bed and breakfast but on the first night decided to try the restaurant, this was excellent, so good in fact that we went back for the second night of our stay, this was equally as good, the restaurant is only small but is very quaint and overall it was an absolute pleasure to be there. The breakfasts were wonderful served by Mel who was superb and went out of her way to be both charming and helpful - overall we can highly recommend Elvey Farm, it was an absolute pleasure to of stayed there.

I'm from the local area and my partner and I were married at Elvey Farm. As a venue for a small (35 guests) wedding, Elvey Farm was perfect. The location is as beautiful as the website suggests and the accomodation is very high quality, stylish and comfortable (we stayed in the Canterbury suite and Hawkhurst room in the Oast House). Simon and Jeff are both attentive, warm and charming hosts and immediately make people feel at ease. The food in the restaurant is superb (especially the delicious breakfast). In the evenings the restaurant is open, it is often full of locals who come here to eat (a very good sign).

On the day of our wedding, we had the venue entirely to ourselves and it felt very intimate and special. Many of our guests said it was the nicest wedding they had been to, and this is, we feel, in no small part thanks to the wonderful staff at Elvey Farm and the venue itself. It will always be very special to us and we will go back regularly.

We booked in for two (mid-week) nights after finding this place online.
The rooms are large, and the furniture and fittings were all good quality and comfortable with the only exception being rather thin curtains which prevented a really good lie in.
The food in the restaurant was good, the breakfasts were generous and the bar well stocked for a small place.
We particularly liked being able to bring our dog along to enjoy the good walking and beaches in the kent/sussex area.
Having access to our own little hot tub was fun and nice for star watching at night but its location in a field down the side of an agricultural barn is not quite the secret garden described.
