I have been to this book shop 4 times now and every time have come out with a bag full of books as they are in good condition and very reasonably priced. Each time I have returned there are different books on the shelves so there must be a good turnover of stock and the lady and gent who run the shop are very friendly and once made me a coffee whilst I was browsing. I asked for a specific book once and was told they thought they had it but needed to check. They took my email are messages me a couple of days later to say it was at the shop for me to peruse at my leisure. I will continue to shop here for my books and would recommend anyone interested in books to visit.

What a find! incredible range of books, could've wiled away hours in there and spent lots more money if we had it! Really friendly owner too and definitely worth the walk from Margate town centre. Really reasonably priced too!

Tiverton Books is the best 2nd hand bookshop I have ever experienced in the UK. Discovering books of special interest to me, all published yesteryears, is as joyful as encountering long-lost friends again! Apart from "Mills and Boon" summer romances (which you will expect from a seaside resort), there are books on aeronautical mathematics, organic chemistry, spirituality of the various religions, war history and much more.....

The Managers, Carol and Dave, are extremely friendly and accomodating. In addition, Tiverton delivers an ordering service. Indeed the latest published books on the market can be ordered through their well-established system.

The bookshop is well organized, always feeling fresh, and gives me the feeling that it is look after professionally (of course, Carol and Dave have been in the book business for some time). Overall, an adventure in itself. Drop in for a chat !

Tiverton Books is located opposite the Oval Lawns on Eastern Esplanade at Cliftonville, just outside of Margate (same building as Smiths Court hotel). We walked to the shop (December 2012) from Margate, uphill past the Turner Gallery along the esplanade, which took about 15 minutes, but there also appeared to be plenty of free carparking. We found the shop was very well stocked with a broad selection of second hand modern fiction and non-fiction books that are generally in excellent condition and reasonably priced. The shop is well organised and pleasant. The owner is also very helpful and knowledgeable and offered to help find any books that were not currently in stock. Highly recommended.

Black Books meets Are You Being Served?! Most importantly, friendly owners who know their books and are just as happy having a chat as they are letting you browse unhindered. Great, eclectic selection of books (and bookcases!) with some real specialist volumes alongside good quality general fiction. I could spend hours rummaging among them and all reasonably priced. Convenient location with plentiful parking outside.
