There seems to be a half hearted attitude to the old town. People running business, seem to be reluctant to open . Try a Monday morning or Wednesday afternoon, Sundays are hit and miss. Go Into some places and feel the fact that no one has been in for hours or days.I would not say that all the shops are unwelcoming, but they often seem surprised anyone came into their shop, if they are open the time you call. That being said, there is a wide range of galleries, and places to eat and drink. This part of Margate has a huge potential ,Think Notting hill, before it was posh, but by the sea.
