This was my second visit to westbrook bay and it is an excellent beach..there is enough free on the road parking and easy access to the beach. There were enough toilets and they were clean.
The major problem with this beach is the cafe/shop. The man and woman that run the shop appear to be so bored and irritated with running the cafe/shop. They were rude and abrupt on both of my visits. secondly the variety and freshness of food is poor. If you want fried you'll be happy;-) we ordered fish and chips and was abruptly told it would take 12 minutes because its frozen so in effect we were ordering 'iceland' battered cod and chips that tasted only of old oil. the chips tasted of old oil too :-(Most people want fresh fish and chips when at the seaside!!
I really think more effort should be made to serve fresh healthier food.....Its not difficult to make salads....they're easy to do!! Or jacket potatoes are a simple healthier option.
I also found their attitude towards children to be desired. for example....signs in the shop saying DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS TOUCH THESE BUCKETS AND SPADES UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR THEM. I'm sure there is a nicer way of writing this if the owners really think it is necessary to have such a sign. I have also overheard them shouting at children to hurry up and decide what ice cream they want!! :-O
