Cannot believe we didn't find this place years ago! It is literally minutes from the tunnel. Good value for money, always a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast. Staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome and at home - especially when travelling with a dog. I always feel awkward staying places with my dogs and worry they are in the way or disturbing owners and guests. But, not here! We are AlL made welcome. Even offered breakfast in the bar so we didn't have to shut the dogs in the car before a mammoth drive and we could all relax in the knowledge we wouldn't irritate other guests!

Rooms are a little rough around the edges... bathrooms in particular..... dodgy shower heads, wobbly stiff windows, saniflow noisy loos, that kind of trivial but noticeable thing. BUT.... everywhere is immaculately clean, plenty pillows, towels, everything you need. If that kind of thing really bothers you, then don't stay here. But if your willing to tolerate a few niggles in favour of a lovely friendly and charming place... then make it your regular stop over for Europe! We have, and will continue to do so......

Comfortable clean bedroom, good wholesome food served by friendly staff who do everything to make you welcome. It's ideally situated for exploring the local area and is very dog friendly. It is also good that the bar is used by the locals which provides a good atmosphere.

We had a double room which although small was great value, well equipped and clean.
The manager and staff are all very welcoming and accommodating and the pub has a real country village feel to it, Wednesday was steak night with two meals and bottle of red for £25. The cooked breakfast before the 10 minute drive to the EuroTunnel terminal set us up for a leisurely morning drive through Northern France. Its our fifth time here and would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Stayed in different rooms on different occasions and all OK. Front rooms overlook village green.

We stayed in the 4 poster bed room for one night. The room was light and clean and the owner (and staff generally) was very friendly and accommodating, and was extremely helpful when we needed to check in early so we could be at a wedding. There is a beautiful garden where we enjoyed a drink or two. Only downside is the plumbing isn't great and makes a very loud humming noise every time the water is turned on. Which was a little annoying. We stayed for breakfast too which left a lot to be desired but it was edible. Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel, although I wouldn't eat there again.

This hotel is a little hidden gem, it is not 5star but never claims to be either, the rooms are very clean and have everything you need. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were very nice and well cooked, the staff bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you need, Nettie (the breakfast lady) cooks a lovely full English and tailors it to what you want or don't want. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and have already booked to go back!
