“Lovely weekend away from all the hustle and bustle!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Me and my boyfriend, stayed here the first weekend in March for our 1 year anniversary :)
The rooms are amazing! well decorated and nicely furnised. The bed itself felt like you was sleeping on a cloud, the bathroom was also great, shower was lovely!
The tickets for castle was in with the hotel price, which was fab, the gardens and lake are beautiful to walk round.
The hotel staff were very accomodating and helpful, they made a reservation for us at the local pub the Henry VIII, which was so nice and cosy, word of advise take a torch with you for the walk back as the lane does get very dark!
The breakfast provided the next day was great, a wide selection of choice was available english breakfast, fruit, cereal, pastries, kippers etc
The billard room is also worth a look at, even though i cant play billards, we still had a go.
All in all the weekend was fantastic, would definitely book to go again :)

We stayed last August at Hever Castle Luxury Bed and Breakfast to celebrate a special occasion, one enters by a private gated entrance and the accommodation is set in the Astor wing of the castle. It looks like a Tudor village made up of seperate different buildings but it is infact all one building.

The room we had was beautifully furnished, with modern and antique touches blending together superbly. We had original fixtures and fittings in our room, I especially liked the old fashioned bottles displayed on a three tier shelving unit that looked as if they were filled with bath salts, the stunning fireplace and beautiful wallpapers with matching accessories. We had the most amazing "Bonsack" bath that had belonged to John Jacob Astor where the water came out of a tap shaped as a swan's head and an automatic shower that was out of this world. Our bed was extremely comfortable too. The common parts are beautifully decorated with lovely antique paintings, furniture and figurines and there is a games room and a lovely lounge area too with the days newspapers supplied to read. We were most fortunate on our stay that breakfast was taken in the castle a wonderful surprise as it is not the norm for stays and we were served a full English breakfast and one could help themselves to yoghurts and juices etc. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We arrived on a Saturday and included in the price of our stay was admission to Hever Castle and it's grounds both on the Saturday and Sunday, a great saving of £60. As guests of the bed and breakfast we had access to the grounds after visitors had departed and it was a magical experience. At the time of our stay there was a concert in the grounds of show tunes, ourselves and other guests took a walk near to the concert arena to have a listen to the singers who were marvellous.

There is such a lot to see at Hever Castle, there is a water maze, great fun for visitors of all ages and the lake area is stunning to see and boats are available for hire. There is a lovely garden shop and the gift shops have very nice gifts to buy, something for everyone and certainly not tat. Most interesting was the miniature model houses exhibition, well worth seeing, such amazing detail. There are two restaurants on site, food is very good in the Moat restaurant and on the weekend we visited there was also a BBQ available for visitors and dotted around the site one could buy other refreshments too from kiosks and vendors. The gardens and grounds are beautifully kept and it was a joy to walk around them. There is so much to see and do it really is a full day's visit

We toured the castle and the lady dressed in costume was delightful and welcoming to visitors and we were fortunate enough to see another actor dressed as Henry VIII. At the time of our visit they had jousting tournaments which we took time to watch.

I would like to point out that at the time of our stay guests had to be back at the B & B by midnight, fine for us on our visit but if still in place it may not suit some people.

A lovely place and a fabulous experience to celebrate a special occasion.

We came to see the Castle and thought it was ideal to be able to stay at the B&B and feel part of the history. Plus entry to the castle is included in the tickets.
The room was luxurious and spacious and best of all quiet. However, it was just a normal hotel room. We chose the feature room but as far as I could tell there was just some vintage and antique furniture in the suite and the bathroom was nice but standard. There is a thermostat in the room which I would advise turning down before you go to bed as the heating is on constantly and it gets seriously hot!
The staff were really helpful and friendly. They booked dinner for us at the Henry the VIII which is <5 minutes walk and gave us a torch to use on the way.
The breakfast was nice with a big selection, but as always I want a lie in and am not particularly bothered about getting out of bed for a fry-up.

I've stayed several times at Hever Castle B&B. The location is stunning, overlooking beautiful grounds, very private and a great sense of history throughout. The staff are very helpful, pleasant and polite. The rooms are well-equipped with spacious bathroom and multi-channel TV. The wi-fi used to to be a little erratic but they seem to have sorted it out now.

It has to be experienced at least once.

Stayed just 1 night but could have stayed here much longer. Have always loved this place but to stay here was just magical. The rooms were luxurious and very clean and the public rooms were the same. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and our room had Lord Astors original bath. There was a reading and billiard room. The breakfast was excellent in a dining room overlooking the moat. The staff were very helpful and polite. We stayed just before christmas and would highly recommend it as the grounds were decorated as well as the rooms in the Castle. The price was reasonable as this included entrance to the Castle and beautiful grounds for 2 days. They dont have a bar there or mini bar in the rooms but staff are not adverse to guests taking their own drinks in. Would definitely return there

A truly special place to stay. Elegant and comfortable with a fabulous art collection. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable, and you will not eat breakfast in a more atmospheric room than the large dining room. On our last morning we were in a smaller room which was also an attractive setting to breakfast in. Our only disappointment was that the beautifully-cooked breakfasts were not nearly as hot as they should be and, on one occasion, the temperature was unacceptable. This was soon put right when brought to the staff's attention but there was obviously a time-delay between the cooking and serving of the hot food. All the staff at Hever were very pleasant, and helpful, from booking to leaving.

Hever is a formal place to stay but not at all stuffy, and we felt very relaxed there. The history of the castle (restored by Waldorf Astor) was what attracted us and it, and its artifacts, did not disappoint. A benefit of staying there was access to the grounds when they were closed to the public. One morning, after breakfast, we had the lovely gardens to ourselves to wander in, and we didn't see another soul for about an hour.until the gates were opened to the public. We had a memorable stay and felt privileged to be staying in such a unique place.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a separate bath and shower, which we required. We were perfectly happy with our...

Hello Everyone, i recently stayed at the Hever Castle B&B in a room called Daffodil.
Our room was absolutely stunning and the room was huge! Much bigger and better then I could have imagined! As Hever Castle is obviously of age, I didn’t expect too much but wow, it’s was the complete opposite.
You’ll definitely have the best night’s sleep of your life; the bed is so so lovely like sleeping on a cloud. The next night when i went home and climbed into my own bed, it was very disappointing!
The bathroom was amazing as well, a walk in shower big enough for 10 people!
The staff very lovely, friendly and helpful.
All in all a wonderful and luxurious stay!
