“High quality accomodation combined with real British history”

Excellent B&B accommodation in the recently opened Astor wing. High spec room fittings and furnishings, cheerful and helpful staff and a good full English breakfast. Our booking also included unlimited access to the castle and idyllic grounds. The only drawback right now @ June 2012 is that they don't offer evening meals for us B&B hotel travellers in their lovely dining room, even though I'm sure that this is organised for weddings and corporate events. Food is only available at a couple of local pubs - one a short walk and one a short drive away. They really ought to complete the package to enhance their commercial offering.

Recently stayed at the refurbished Hever Castle B&B. I cannot believe that this was once only open to corporate and weddings. Such a gem. The rooms are luxourious in every way, feather pillows to feather matress toppers. The highest spec fittings finish the rooms. The staff were polite and always had a smile. Loved the Billard Room and also the Music Room where you can sit in comfort, read the history books or play chess. The prices are going up in July, please do not put them up too much, we want to come back. Only downside to our room, Geranium, was that it didn't have a view but I suspect if we had asked for one they would have moved us with a smile. King Henry VII pub just around the corner, wonderful too.

Room Tip: Upon booking ask for a room with a view.

Nice room, comfortable bed, good breakfast, very pleasant surroundings in the Astor Wing and helpful staff. Add this to the free to roam facility within the castle and grounds and this became a very memorable visit. Just remember there are no facilities other than breakfast and tea coffee in the room. A pleasant 15 minutes walk will take you to the local pub where food is served.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a sunny aspect. Arrive early (earliest 1500hrs) to enjoy the gardens and castle.

The Astor Wing accommodation is located alongside the castle, perfectly placed for a visit to Hever Castle. The rooms are excellent, beautifully decorated with nineteenth century English style wallpaper and curtains, the colours and designs refreshing and calm. Wonderful views of the gardens and the castle from the windows in our room. The Astor Wing is newly renovated - work was completed this year. By the way, the bathroom shower is top notch. We took the coffee/tea things from the bedroom to the public Sitting Room/Library (formerly a Music Room) for 'tea' which was just lovely. The breakfast is delicious and presented well, served by very courteous and helpful waiting staff. The breakfast menu includes pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon and toast. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Dinner at the local pubs is a must.

Room Tip: A higher floor room has terrific views of the castle

My fiftieth review, so it had to be for something special and I hope you'll agree a first wedding anniversary is special.

We discovered the B&B at Hever Castle Astor Wing by chance on booking.com. The venue was until recently only available for exclusive hire, but now you can stay in one of their rooms on a B&B basis without being invited to a function or wedding at the castle. The newly refurbished rooms were only opened in Spring 2012.

The rooms have all been refurbished to a very high standard. We opted for a Feature Room, which was a large ground-floor room with double four poster bed, large flatscreen TV, Free Wifi, large bathroom with bath and large walk-in shower and a underfloor heating. There was also tea and coffee making facilities, hair drier, plus the usual extras you'd expect from a 5* B&B. There are 21 bedrooms in total and whilst the prices aren't cheap the quality and experience is definitely worth that little extra.

What we didn't expected were a large period lounge with big comfy sofas, fireplaces, a billiards room and what has to be the most ornate dining room for breakfast.

Set in the Astor wing at Hever Castle you are immediately struck by the grandeur as you arrive at the private gated entrance and make your way down the drive alongside the Castle to the Astor Wing at the side and rear of the castle main building. We were greeted by a smartly dressed and friendly gentleman and shown to our room.

The buildings are a mix of old and new, but all very much in the Tudor style and sympathetic to the main buildings that have stood for centuries.

Included in the price was entrance to the Castle and grounds on both days of our one night stay. At around £15 per adult that's a great saving, you also get access to the grounds around the Astor Wing even once the gates are closed and can soak up the atmosphere and walk along the side of the 38 acre lake.

Breakfast was good, although not stunning. The majority of the breakfast was provided buffet style and your choice of egg was cooked to order. We couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed by the breakfast after such a fantastic stay in such a unique B&B but overall we'd definitely go back again.

Everything. A magical, luxurious escape back in time to Tudor Britain. The B&Bs staff are attentive & welcoming, yet unobtrusive,
breakfast in the morning by Hever Castle's moat was simply magical., and the scenery was stunning. This is an ideal location for a peaceful, comfortable, relaxing break.
My partner was completely overwhelmed by the Astor Wing. I took her there for our anniversary and it was a perfect, reasonably priced romantic break away.

Take a trip here, you won't regret it.

We have just returned from spending at night in the Astor Wing. Our room (Rosemary) was beautifully furnished, if a little small. My only problem was the lack of lighting near a mirror for make up etc. The staff were extremely helpful and the food at the pub excellent. We enjoyed a game of snooker before bed. The castle and grounds are a wonderful bonus not to be missed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
