Four of us attended Berrys on Saturday evening 1st December at around 7.30pm & what has been spoken about today as a total eating experience!
The staff were absolutely superb, charming & very hospitable in taking our coats on arrival.. a wonderful selection of starters all at the same price.
Mains were to die for and served with a great deal of flare in their presentation & the nice part was the fact that we knew we had eaten it! Unlike other places locally that we have visited, that left us with a desire to go to the chip shop after to top up!
The desserts were 'Orgasmic' and enjoyed them with a bit of a struggle, as there had been so much food delivered in the first two courses... A complete dining experience that we have lacked for a long time in this town.
To Berrys, We say welcome to Herne Bay and please don't go away.... Fabulous!!

We visited Berry’s Eatery twice so far for dinner and then lunch, and didn’t regret it. The look of our starters made me think that who made them really enjoyed their time in kitchen. I had calamari, my Mr Wonderful had prawns. Both starters came very well presented and tasted delicious. Attention was paid to very little detail. Same was with main courses (we ordered sirloin steak and salmon with noodles) and my deserts. I loved my plums in brandy on the first occasion and chocolate and caramel on the second. When my Darling jokingly mentioned that he did not taste much brandy in my desert, his brandy was served in a steaming glass, aroma was incredible. Yes, exactly how it should be, I hear you say, but how often and where do you get it served like that?!

I really did not expect anything like this, so could not help it but started chatting to the lady-owner of the eatery. It’s a family run business. They opened this place only last July, before they had a cake shop. So, here not only you can have a lovely meal at affordable prices, but if you need a cake for an occasion, they do it as well. The lady’s daughter loves making cup-cakes. The lady herself loves cooking; her favourite reading is cookery books. Majority of dishes from their menu are made to her recipes by a couple of young guys in the kitchen. Sometimes she cooks herself.

Atmosphere in the eatery is very informal, friendly, warm and welcoming. Although during our visits it was not very busy, but everyone who was there left smiling, hugging and thanking them, even those who sat all evening in front of each other grumpy in silence.

They really look forward to their first summer. They have already set a terrace in front of the building with a few tables, it’s very well protected by high fence from chilling winds. If you feel cold, they can offer you fleece blankets to wrap up warm.

In Herne Bay, where, apart from beach and traditional local and promenade and every coastal town curse-arcade, there is not much happening, cosy little places like this make such big difference. I wish Berry’s Eatery all success in the future as I hope very much to visit them again.

We visited on a saturday lunchtime. The restaurant was quiet so we assumed we'd get servied quickly - no such luck. Once we got the menues it took 20 mins before anyone took our drinks orders and we had to prompt them for this. We then waited a further 25 mins for our food! We were on the verge of walking out when the food arrived, with flustered apologies! Thankfully it was worth the wait but did make us think about wether we'd consider returning or not. It's a shame that the staff were the biggest let down as could have so easily have been recitified.
It's been a while since we've been and given recent reviews it looks like they've got their act together :-)

Ate here with friends with young children. The waitress could not do enough for us and has a rapport with kids. She arranged a special selection of ice creams with all the frills and sugary Carmel goo which they loved and also gave out lollipops for good behaviour. They have a kids menu which is varied and very competitively priced. Lovely place which will now be our regular Sunday eatery.
