I am a 5* member of this leisure centre which entitles me to use the pool, gym and exercise classes whenever I want for £36 a month. This is an excellent price as I use the classes a lot and the gym and swimming now and again. The pool is excellent with a main pool, beach/children's pool, jacuzzi and chute. There is a cafe/viewing area as well if you just fancy watching. The gym is good and modern and there is a multitude of exercise classes to choose from which are well run. The staff are friendly.

We had a family afternoon out at Heron's swimming pool in August 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are two pools - the main pool for serious swimmers or the fun pool for kids. We stayed in the fun pool area. The children had so much fun and it wasn't over-crowded. There are various water fountains, one that makes a tunnel that the kids loved swimming through. There is also a twisty water slide and a separate bubble pool (small children must be supervised if sitting in the bubble pool as it is quite turbulant). There are always lifeguards seated at the side of the pool monitoring everything for safety.

Next to the pool is a cafe serving snacks and drinks. There are a few tables situated beside the pools in a viewing area - handy for any family member who doesn't wish to swim but wants to watch.

Lockers are available for £1, returnable when you vacate the locker (don't forget to collect it from the inside of the door!) and there are plenty of cubicles in the changing rooms, including larger ones for families. The shower is a communal type, situated right next to the pool.

The reception is well-staffed and they also sell swim-nappies for toddlers.
