Most completely furnished for an exceptional stay: very close to the sea, the views being indeed stunning, it is most comfortable to sit in the window bay listening to the waves, enjoying the view or alternatively a book from an inspiring selection on the shelves. We felt very much at home in the spacious, most tastefully arranged rooms. Not to mention all the pleasures around that Deal + surroundings have to offer, like shops and pubs and restaurants of good quality - we didn't use the kitchen as much as we could have with its perfect equipment - cliff walks and you can start your morning run right in front of your door. Very pleasant contact to owners - thanks for letting us stay - we'll gladly be back - this house offers anything you could wish for.
This property ticked all the boxes that we were looking for when we decided to book a self-catering holiday by the sea. The owner was most helpful prior to booking & during our stay. The sea view was amazing, very relaxing sitting in the bay window. We soon got used to the 3 flights of stairs (living in a bungalow it was tough to start with!) The living space is amazing, plenty of easy chairs & sofas, large TV, audio equipment, loads of books, games, Dvds &Cds. The lovely sun terrace, which is not overlooked, is accessed from the middle floor living area and also by the steps from the outside area by the kitchen on the ground floor. The kitchen was well equipped & clean. The bedrooms were different sizes, on the upper floor, facing the back, was a King size bed in a room with plenty of storage space. This was next to the family bathroom, quite compact with a shower, bath, basin & toilet. On the same floor a very spacious twin bedded room overlooking the sea. On the middle floor was a small double bedroom with a very small ensuite bath, toilet & basin. This overlooks the sun terrace. One thing to note is the height of some of the door frames - not very user friendly for tall folk, but the Victorians were apparently shorter! The property is very close to the town, no need to worry about parking as there's free parking for 1 car opposite the house or in a carpark close by. All in all this house is just ideal for a relaxing holiday. Book with confidence!
This is a fantastic house to stay in. The sea view from the first floor is superb. Great set of games, books and DVDs to keep you entertained.
My wife loves the sofa there and I think once she finds out where to get them from she will be pushing to get one.
This really is a luxury house.
Amazing holiday home with everything you could wish for.All 6 of us had a wonderful time and did not want to leave. Our daughter loved the gluten free options from The Seaview Fish Shop opposite the pier.Daily visits from the resident seal swimming opposite the property was a nice sight.Outside shower was lovely,i really could go on and on but i will leave you to find out more of the hidden gems that this property has to offer.Do not hesitate to book,we will be back, loved it.
A beautiful house full character, extremely well furnished. Fantastic location with the beach on your doorstep. Offers long walks in the early morning followed by breakfast on the Pier. The most comfortable beds and stunning sea views in the lounge. Sipping tea in the bay window seat is the best place to relax and watch the changing colours of the sea.
Wonderful characterful house with everything you need for a holiday. Location excellent, right on the front with (as described) stunning sea views. You can sit in the window seat and watch the world go by. The promenade is ideal for a flat walk in the evening after a good meal.
Deal is a great location for a stay and we'd definitely like to visit again; it has an almost old fashioned charm with a very friendly atmosphere. There's a great high street with lots of independent shops which are very pleasant to wander around though some have limited opening hours eg closed part of the week - this was also the case with some restaurants. If we do get back to Deal we'd love to stay at the same house. I can quite understand why it has excellent reviews as the owners have made great efforts to make it somewhere you'd want to return to. I had serious house envy and didn't want to leave!
As the house is based over three floors it wouldn't be ideal for people with mobility issues but there is certainly lots of space to spread out. The outside shower is a nice touch so after a dip in the sea you can rinse off. The kitchen is well stocked and the decking outside the large centre floor living room is ideal for a glass of wine in the evening!
You can walk into the town centre in a couple of minutes where there are plenty of eateries to choose from. We enjoyed several meals out but the most notable was at Victuals & Co which we can highly recommend. Also much enjoyed was the micropub Just Reproach where all the staff were exceptionally friendly and the beer was excellent.
There are loads of great places to visit nearby; we particularly liked Canterbury and took a lovely boat trip. We also enjoyed a walk to the lighthouse along the White Cliffs of Dover; obviously great sea views but also an excellent bird's eye view of the workings of the port.
