Our short stay at this property was really lovely. The owners of the house have clearly put a lot of care and attention into it, and it is supplied with all the little things that you need but don't necessarily want to bring with you on a break.
The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, etc, and there were lots of store cupboard items available for use - salt, pepper, herbs and spices. We were also welcomed with some fresh milk, bread, butter, teabags and instant coffee which was a nice touch. I must admit we didn't do a lot of cooking while we were there, but there would have been no issues with doing so, with a lovely big range cooker and plenty of worktop space. There is also a gas barbecue in the small but very nice outside area.
The rooms at the front of the house are spacious and have lots of natural light, especially in the evenings. The back of the house (kitchen, bathroom, single bedroom) have fairly low ceilings which might be an issue for the very tall. The stairs down to the basement playroom are a bit steep and narrow, so supervision is definitely recommended for little ones, but my children certainly enjoyed the football table, Lego and other toys to be found down there. The wi-fi seemed to work well, although I only used it for checking email and web browsing.
The road the house is on is very quiet, with no real through traffic, but it is very parked up and has residents' parking restrictions. This wasn't an issue for us as we came by train, but might cause a problem for those with a car.
Overall, this cottage felt like a home away from home, and we were very pleased with our choice of accommodation. We could certainly have stayed for longer, and would recommend it to others.
