Three of us visited The Plough Inn for lunch on Saturday 8th March 2014 and were very satisfied with our choice of pub. We had just finished a 5.5 mile walk in the area and were feeling hungry and thirsty.
There was a good selection of beers on tap, two of us went for the Ripple Steam Brewery Best and it was delicious, less than £3 a pint as well. The menu had plenty of good, simple, home cooked options and were all priced very keenly. I went for boiled ham with bubble and squeak and fried eggs (£6.95). My friends chose a vegetarian nut roast, and a pork sirloin dish. They both enjoyed their choices too.
As the main courses were so well priced, we ordered puddings as well. Again a good selection, not all of them were home cooked but the waitress told us which ones were. All were priced at only £2.95 and they were lovely.
The service was very good and the atmosphere was very friendly. There was a small TV showing England beating Italy in the Six Nations too, the volume of the TV wasn't too loud.
We will visit again as there are lots of walking possibilities in the area.
