“Delicious!”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

An experience - like going back in time. Food excellent, good size portions, fresh fish cooked to order, but worth the wait. Service good, friendly. Can choose from a range of beverages including tea, coffee, beer and wine. Worth any wait you may experience, due to limited table space. If you are unable to wait and it is good weather you can always have a short walk and sit on the sea front to experience the best fish & chips for miles around.

“The best fish & chips in this little hide away.”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

A very modest little place but with the best fish & chips anywhere. Fresh haddock is so creamy and perfectly cooked with the lightest bubbliest batter.

Waitresses are always friendly and efficient. Mainly frequented by the older generation, but they are onto a good thing here.

Be prepared to wait for a table here if it is busy as you won't be able to find a better fish & chips locally.

“Slipped slightly”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

For many years have used this restaurant when visiting the area. Our recent visit was the first though for 4 years. The takeaway shop was as busy as ever and obviously the locals love it. We entered the restaurant just as it opened and 2 tables were already taken. Within another 15 mins there was only one table left. It's not a big place with only about 7-8 tables, but it is licenced for wine and bottled beer/lager. The menu has a good selection but we chose haddock as usual. It was quite good but we felt not quite up to the quality that we'd experienced in the previous 20 yrs. Perhaps there has been a change of ownership or it was us expecting too much? As we left, the staff were working hard to put tables together to fit a couple of families in - around 9-10 people- no complaints about the service.

“Lovely Fish and Chips - well worth the trip”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Although not easy to find, we even walked past it. The door to the restaurant to the side has no sign on it! But it was well worth the visit from north Kent! I had a delicious piece of haddock coated in a fine batter and the chips are great. The mushy peas were a bit strange and the taste was not right, that is all that stops the excellent rating shame but never mind! Everything else was great including the service. Highly recommended
