That sums this place up! They know every visitor must walk along the pier, see the resturant and think, what lovely views - must stop and have a cuppa & meal!
Wrong! You are now a captive audience - enjoy the view, but make sure your train/coach is not going for the next 2 hours!
I am local and having had a reasonable wait on the last occasion, after a tale of disasters from friends & family alike, thought to give it one last chance.
So I sit outside in the lovely late September sushine, order a baked potato and wait. 20 minutes later - no potatos - want anything else?
OK poached egg and baked beans on toast - lets keep it simple!
Clearly too complicated, 45 minutes later still waiting, I walk out. Didin't pay for the coffee (something I have never done) but considered they owed it for my time.
Any request to know when you are being served is met with hostility and rudeness, any mention of time is hotly disputed. No apologies, no explanation.
Only 6 tables were being used and young couple also gave up and walked out after over an hour.
Please Deal Council - when the lease comes up for renewal, do Deal a favour and get someone in competent who doesn't take advantage of where they are so anything goes!
