When this opened about 6 years ao (I may be wrong) but not much longer than that, it was the place to be, fun, full of laughter and great coffee and always packed. But sadly it is not the place it was, tiles have fallen away from the counter and been stuck back with sellotape, the motor under the chill cupboard has lost it's panel and you look onto a dirty messy machine. Last winter the door catch was not working for months and the door keeped blowing open (this would have cost a few pounds to fix). The place is now dull and needs a good lick of paint, then a few weeks ago the comfy settee's in the front section was moved to the back (this area is seperate from the main cafe and if no-one or not many other customers are in, you feel very isolated, as you can't see out to the street, (cranbrook is a small palce and you can see people you know walk past) or talk to the staff. In the place are bright orange hard chairs, that have a back rest that stop, half way up the back. Mega hard,
I get the feeling this is to stop anyone staying a long time, as I been told in the past, some stay for hours with just a cup of coffee. These new bright (children-like) chairs, the brown walls, the chill cabinet dirty, dusty workings showing, this place is a mess, and they have lost regular customers, with some money spent (on the right things) and take notice of what customers want this cafe could again be brilliant.
